Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 I’m pretty shocked by this. The Twins had a lame duck expiring contract for $60 million this season. Once Diamond Sports dumped San Diego earlier this year, I assumed the Twins were not too far behind.

CRF Verified Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Very surprised by this, but I suppose it's good to have no change thru this season. We'll figure out next season later on.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 I assume Bremer & company are breathing a sigh of relief.
tony&rodney Verified Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Apparently viewership is reasonably good. Corporations and goodwill are not much of a thing.
Muppet Verified Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Does this mean I still won’t be able to ever watch games unless I buy an expensive cable package for the sole purpose of getting twins games?
MABB1959 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 There should be a law that all Sunday games are televised locally

You tube, peacock, apple, etc are not what I signed up for. They provide a sporadic product with less than ideal quality. This peacock channel is bouncing like a Kepler rollover ground ball.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 This peacock channel is horrific. constant buffering and having to reboot. I followed some tech advice, and the situation became worse.

Agreed, one of the aspects that I hope for most is a comprehensive and flexible package (streaming or what have you) that I can pay for watching the game at home, like I can in-person. Buy a game, buy a package, buy a season. It shouldn’t be a patchwork quilt!
Robert Floren Verified Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Twins have been on way more than their share of off-market games. Fox, Peacock and I think one other. I miss home announcers.
Robert Floren Verified Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 This Peacock guy is too yappy. Can't shut up.

I get to watch maybe 10 games a year. Dropped Dish this year and went to YouTube. Way cheaper
Twins GFP Verified Member Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Welcome to regional television contracts. Bally paid the Twins because they think that a playoff-hunt team will generate more money for them. Baseball has competitive issues, but I believe this is the number one problem facing baseball today. The Yankees and Dodgers would not survive unless they had the Twins and Brewers to play Imagine how the Packers and Bills would fare if the NFL had regional contracts. For those of you looking to get around streaming blackouts, try a VPN.
