I believe the team was above .500 and leading the division at that time, correct?

If so, can you really blame them for not taking this route?

To be fair, he did say exactly that last year.

Another pitcher from the bottom of the barrel

I think Tampa Bay's bottom of the barrel pitchers are way better than anybody else's bottom of the barrel

Criswell has 22 career innings of 6+ ERA and over 30 hits allowed. Neither of the other 2 tonight are any good either.

This is about our hitters, not the other team's pitchers.

That club was going nowhere last year. On a bullet train.

Morneau's griping about the strike zone is getting old.  Twins have proven that they can't consistently hit balls or center-cut fastballs.  Their choices are poor, their swings are terrible, and the results show it.

This. MLB hitters should be able to spoil a borderline pitch here or there.

I don't think we would kick him out of our bullpen

Oh, to have to pitch for this team. They rarely give you an early run or two so you are always pitching being behind, even if it is just one run. You go out inning after inning, pitching with that anxiety hanging over your head.. I never pitched but this has to wear on you, even at the MLB level.

Keps not right.  He's in the lead for the J. Piersall  award.

I tend to agree with that. He's got something going on. Whether it's mental or physical...who knows?, I'm certainly no expert, but I don't think he's operating anywhere near 100 %. I still think he's having trouble with his eyes and vision. The migraines could be involved too.

Well, he didn't expand the zone, but perhaps the umpire did?

Yes Paul. You can't be spewing negatives anymore.  You know that.

That looked like a Ben Revere AB. Speed guy swinging for the fences with 2 strikes.

This team is somehow 8-5 combined against the Astros and Yankees.

I'm waiting for the time when the Twins first baseman misses CC's throw, and the ball sticks in the !B chest.
