Not that .200 is good, but it isn't as bad now as it was during the steroid era and before. Plain and simply, baseball is in a cycle where pitching has become more dominant.

These hitters don't seem to know the difference between exploding on their swing at the moment of contact, versus these big back swings with the uppercut follow-throughs.

Batting averages were consistently around .260 for decades, went up during the steroid era, and now have come down. I don’t know the recent trends or averages but change my mind, .200 is absolutely terrible.

I could be batting coach with this approach...."see that fence between those tall yellow poles swing as hard as you can and hit it over it."  Do it for half what ever they are now paying too.
