He doesn't have good velocity, nor does he have any command.  He's pitched one good game since coming to the Twins, and his injuries.

We had a wind storm blow through Tucson last night, and I'm missing 25% of my roof. Oof.

Not at all impressed with what I've seen from Mahle thus far in his Twins outings.

Nothing more than a #5 starter thus far, and even that might be a stretch.

I think he's too busy practicing his elevator pitch to make any real baseball pitches.

So far this year it seems like there's been a bunch of balls hit to shortstop that off the bat I thought would be a close play only to see Correa/Farmer not even get within 3 ft of the ball.

Mahle should use his splitter a lot more. Acts like a good change up. He should even throw it high in the zone. They'd screw themselves into the ground thinking it was a heater, or watch it break down for a strike.

Miranda batting .212 with a .509 OPS, Gordon batting .095 with a .231 OPS.  Some pretty slow starts for arguably the 2 hottest bats on the team for the 2nd half of 2022. Gonna need more from them, still early but let's hope they find their groove at the plate.

If we don't score I would make him pitch 7, even if he gives up 15 runs.  Force him to stay out there until he makes some pitches.

He threw 5 innings of 1 hit ball and struck out 7 in his first start.  Give the guy some time.

5 hits and 2 walks as well...lots of baserunners. He pitched one good game last year after the trade...then there is the injury.  Either he is not good, or damaged goods.  His velocity is down a bit as well.

He threw 5 innings against Miami his last time out, giving up 1 run and struck out seven. 

He's not exactly blowing the doors off so far as a Twin - and I think people need to lower their expectations - but I think he could be a solid #4 or #5 guy in the rotation.

Ouch.

Tornados through southeast Iowa last weekend came within a half mile of my nephew's house and also within a half mile of both his and his wife's parents and all their siblings except one. None of them had any damage, but my wife's cousin's house was leveled. The cousin, his wife and their three kids were unharmed after staying under a table in the basement.

He is good for about 2 innings, then he gets lit up.  Bullpen for Mahle, and SP for Ober or Varland.

He has made 5? total starts in the a Twins uniform, it's April and he's coming off a lot of missed time due to injury.  I know people want instant gratification, but good lord people want to pull the plug so fast.  He's a proven commodity in the past.  If he is struggling with things in June, then you re-evaluate.
