Was Jeffers giving signs?

Presumably using the wrist communicator. Why is KC not using it?

Still a bad swing by Correa...

I don't think they could challenge the swing

I just remembered, when Zack Greinke became a finesse pitcher, he learned how to throw a cutter from the master himself, Greg Maddux. See how he played with the outside line with Arraez? I could see Luis commenting on it to the umpire. Greinke was placing the ball within about a centimeter of where he wanted it. After he got two calls on the edge, the next one was six inches outside. Of course!

I get the feeling this ump is gonna have an inconsistent strike zone today.

Home plate umpires are consistently inconsistent. Humans suck at calling balls and strikes.

Pitches he was giving to Grienke as strikes have been balls for Gray on several occasions through 2 innings.

The thing that strikes me about Lewis is how big and strong he is.

Not smiling on the way to the dugout. He may be a bit more shaken up than it appeared after colliding with the wall.

Is there a concussion protocol in baseball? His cap and glasses went flying.

You know it's another ho-hum game for the offense when Dick starts trying to pump up the audience when a guy "just missed his pitch" or "was right on a pitch and fouled it straight back".

Grienke's out there throwing 76 MPH. Wake me up when they hit one out of the park.

I was thinking the same thing. Looked like he hit his head as much as anything else.

Jeffers is giving signs when nobody is on base. I’ve seen a couple of veteran pitchers that prefer that approach, but switch to the pitch-com when a runner can peek at signs.

Grienke might be doing the same thing
