wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 This is still going less well than I had hoped.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 I mentioned last night I sensed a tailspin in progress. This has all the makings of one. Everything goes wrong. Get pitching, don't hit. Hit, but pitch worse. Bullpen implosion. Bad managin'.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Rocco backed himself into a corner by pulling Ober at only 61 pitches. Yeah, he had given up 3 runs, but I still have more faith in him getting through the next 2 or 3 innings rather than trying to patch it together with Coulombe/Cano/Stashak.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 How in the world are we going to fill 6 more innings of pitching?

TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Those were 85 pretty crappy pitches tonight.

I suspect there's an issue with Ober. Velo was off quite a bit.

Schmoeman5 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Well, they got 1/3 of an inning out of Columbe. Next man up. 1 pitch 2 outs

I agree, but until we hear otherwise I will assume there wasn't. The bullpen is really, really missing a long man. Even if Dobnak isn't very good, he is badly needed. Smeltzer could also perfectly fill that role as well.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 C4!!!! THAT is what a superstar does after a disaster of an inning.

Personally I hate what I consider waisting a spot on a long guy. But I've been wrong before. .. Once.

Yeah, in thought I don't like it either, but over 162 it's really valuable. And with 14 man bullpens, which I think we're going to have for the rest of the year, there is zero reason to not have one.
