POLL: Which rookie pitcher has impressed you the most thus far?

2022 is the year of the long-awaited pitching pipeline that Falvey and Levine were brought here to build. We are seeing some of its production early in the season.

Which rookie pitcher has impressed you the most and why?

Joe Ryan, almost by default since he's pitched the most in the big leagues, but I do think he's been the most impressive all things considered.

All of the above. Sorry, if by impressed you mean better than I expected, that's my answer.

Ryan has been the best.  But I'm very impressed so far and encouraged with what I've seen of Winder and Duran.  Rocco should just make Duran the closer and put Pagan in the 8th inning slot.  Interested to see which young pitchers get the next opportunities.  Hoping Winder could have a spot in the rotation, but no one in the rotation has pitched themselves OUT of a spot and Gray is coming back soon.

It's great that this is such a hard question to answer. I went with Ryan but an argument can easily be made for Duran and his 98mph splinker.

He took a HUGE step forward on developing his breaking balls. Nothing default about it. Joe Ryan leapt forward since last year.

Is Baily Ober a "rookie" for purposes of this vote? He deserves his name to be in the poll, and not just included as "someone else". He has "impressed" me more than Winder. Ober has been a joy to watch pitch. However, I rank them as 1) Ryan, 2) Duran, 3) Ober and 4) Winder.  I sincerely hope Duran becomes a starter next year.

Agreed.  Ryan has impressed even over last season.

By default, I meant that we haven't seen a lot of them yet.  SSS still applies to them, in my view, much more than it does for Ryan.

I'm a huge Ryan fan, but I voted for Duran.  I just hadn't ever seen him pitch, and his stuff is ridiculous.

Winder looks like he was built to pitch baseballs, so I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up having the most success over a long period of time.

I'm just glad we get to enjoy all three of them for the next six years, and I hope they can all stay healthy.

This poll confirms that fans still LOVE starting pitchers. We can talk all we want about piggy backing, openers, etc. But there’s nothing more satisfying to watch than a workhorse starting pitcher. 

With that said I’m still shocked about the results so far. Duran may be the most dominating pitcher we’ve seen since Liriano.

Only time will tell but Jhoan Duran was amazing last night with routine 100mph heater and that 97-98mph splinker that Brock mentioned. In his first save opportunity he looked like he belonged out there. Have to go with him for pure "impressability" but the staff as a whole is #2 in the AL and that speaks for itself.

Ryan has been most impressive.

But considering the (surprising) depth at starting pitching and the fairly thin bullpen reserves, Duran might actually be the more important rookie.

I picked Duran because I didn’t know what to expect. Figured he would take some time like Alcala

I expected Ryan to do this, been on his hype train since the day the trade was made. And Winder impressed me in the minors last year so his start the other day wasn’t shocking either
