I just can't like Berrios. I want to. But to me, he's always...mildly disappointing.

Tonight for example.

Berrios twirling a timely gem to complement the "It's time to pay Jose Berrios" article that dropped today on TD.

Just concentrate on the hitter.  2 outs, 2 strikes on the hitter and you almost toss it into cf.  The boys aren't thinking.

Unlucky that the pickoff throw hit Arraez in a bad spot.

What would have been a good spot to get hit?

I’d suggest that we trade Berrios, but what team would even want him?

He'd be one of the top starters on the trade market if he's available. Methinks they'd get plenty of offers.

Berrios is the best we have. The 2 runs in the first could be all he gives up all game. I'll take him long term, for sure. Maeda was a 2 month streak. Berrios is better than Radke, who used to give up so many runs in the first inning, and people still fawn over him.

Hoping somebody is up for a save opportunity in the 9th tonight.  At the end of the 8th Berrios should be hitting his pitch count limit, assuming it's 220.  Or 221.  Whatever it takes.

I added the “snark” indicator afterward :)

In the middle of a 100 loss season?

Yeah Berrios strikes me as a “gotta get to ‘em early” pitcher. Second time through and he will have a better feel for the batters that night.

Tuned in for a brief half-inning (it's been a while) and watched the heart of the Twins order strike out 3 times against M. Foltenewicz. Impossible to get any enjoyment out of watching this team, even if they're winning.

Here's hoping some slap hitters like Rod Carew make a comeback into this game. Thank golly for Astudillo, at least the guy puts the ball in play.

Manfred will have to address excessive time umpires use, when they get hit.  This slow down of playing time is not acceptable.

Berrios walking off the mound after three fairly quick outs and just for a second I was all 'WhoaWhoaWhoa young man, where you headed?  You've got some more pitches to throw'

Apparently not his glove, which was the point I was unsuccessfully trying to get at.

It’ll all be our little secret that Kirilloff was totally not ready for opening day. And ironically ready the day he gained another service year.

What a shame the Rangers pitcher has his hair in a ponytail tonight. Let it flow!

Do you know what a pain that is while playing sports?

3 games in St Paul is magical. Look what it did for Buxton.

I see a “time to pay Jose” thread as I log on. Handed a 3-0 lead against one of the worst teams in the league and it’s gone in nary 4 innings. Also already at 80 pitches

I’m risking setting this up on a tee… The pain of playing with a pony tail, or letting the hair flow?
