I've noticed that when Alcala pitches well, his name sounds cool to me.  But when he blows a lead, his name seems like the kind of word you make up in your head when you have too many damn A's in Scrabble.

AL-ca-la, adj.; having the ability to propel 9-inch, 5oz spheres at very high rates of velocity in such a manner that it hits the exact center of the barrel of a bat at least one time per 20 trials.

”You look so good, and then I look up and see a ball attempting to separate from the earth’s gravitational pull. You’re so Alcala!”

Can someone explain to me when some pitchers come off the mound they look up to the sky and make some hand signs?

Ask Blyleven. I remember him coming off the mound and making a hand gesture towards the 2nd deck.

And now mlbtv tells me I'm in the blackout area. To be fair, I did move to the other end of the couch.

My blackout area is also the end of the couch

Nice work by Gordon to leg out the double.  But when his helmet flew off, just for a second I was terrified that he's actually a cyborg and we were getting a look at his internal wiring.

Winner.

At first I thought it was a double post, but then I realized this second one is in case he blacked out for the first one.

Extended time of Tortuga at 3B is going to be a bad time.

It certainly is if he can't come up with a hit in situations like that one, tailor-made for a guy whose one tool is making contact.

Gordon, or the actual baseball player? Who do we want to ascertain if he notices?

This post,, in addition to being funny, also serves as an age verification device.

Well, I've seen this movie's ending before.

Ash out.

Be careful leaving...

Don't let the door hit you, Ash, on the way out.

The answer to the question "How far can the Twins bullpen get us in extra innings?" is exactly the same as the punch line of the Ron White bit about how far the airplane can fly after an engine quits:  "All the way to the crash site".

Is Perkins the second mic tonight?

He needs a second mic, for the amount of words spilling out.

When I worked in AAA ball, I remember seeing Perkins and telling him “good game last night”, and he couldn’t have been more of a Dick Bremer

"And my agent booked me a flight out of the Flagstaff airport, beauty salon, and tire dealership."
