One thing about a 101 win season with the patched together rotation, it should make the Twins more attractive to free agent pitching.

I am a newbie here but just have to vent. The umpiring in this series has been atrocious, but so is our manger for not protesting it. One job for a manager is to protect and support your players. How much would the game have changed had Rocco come out of the dugout as Duffey kept getting screwed on calls? How much if he had gotten in the umpire's face when we didn't get the same call. Blaming the ref is the oldest excuse in sports, but here the shoe fits.

 

We have been watching the TV with the sound off and the radio tuned to some real broadcasters. Frankly tired of Smoltz commenting on Yankee hitters when Twins are pitching and Yankee pitchers when Twins are batting. There are TWO teams out there. But then what do you expect from the guy who lost game 7 to another guy who is a better commentator (and pitcher). Apparently he still hasn't gotten over it. Get him out of there. NOW.

4 hits off of Yankee pitching. This is one fearsome Twins' offense on display. Sure our pitching sucks, but this is a major inability to step up. I really thought the offense would not be so inept.

Smeltzer was the best today...and Schoop finally gets to play when the game is in the toliet! I feel like I just wasted 6 months of my life watching every game...

It's too bad the pitching tanked. At least the offense showed some of that never give up attitude they did all season.

4 hits off of Yankee pitching. This is one fearsome Twins' offense on display. Sure our pitching sucks, but this is a major inability to step up. I really thought the offense would not be so inept.

They obviously scouted us well.  They saw that we hit fastballs and are not using fastballs as a pitch to establish and then get them out with a junk pitch.  Rather, they are using the fastball as a show me pitch to keep us honest (I'd be shocked if they threw more than 25 percent this game).  They are using off speed junk even in fastball counts and they are throwing them for strikes.  Years ago, Kenny Rogers beat the Yankees in Detroit by doing the same thing and the Yankees didn't adapt and looked silly against a pitcher that could barely break a pane of glass.  They have done the same thing to us.

You're giving up?  Look, the Yankees did what they should do at home.  They won.  The Gregorias slam is a routine out at Target field.  This series isn't over.
