After last nights win I'd prefer this game just go a standard 9 innings and we win by 10 or 12 runs. I can honestly say I stayed up until the final out was made and very glad I did. Entertaining game to say the least...Magic number now at 7!!!! Tonights game I think goes to the Twins. The momentum is there and I believe the Twins players can smell a division win just around the corner. If the Detroit Tigers had any pride in themselves and for the great game of baseball they should beat Cleveland tonight making our magic number 5... I wanted to write more but I'm tired after staying up so late...Pardon my brevity (inside joke from last nights game thread). My "pick the click" tonight is...Mr. Sano Lineups: TWINS:1. Luis Arraez LF2. Jorge Polanco SS3. Nelson Cruz DH4. Eddie Rosario RF5. Miguel Sano 3B6. Jake Cave CF7. Jonathan Schoop 2B8. Jason Castro C9. Willians Astudillo 1BSP: Jake Odorizzi ® 14-6, 3.60 ERA WHITE SOX:1. Leury Garcia CF2. Tim Anderson SS3. Jose Abreu DH4. Yoan Moncada 3B5. Eloy Jimenez LF6. Zach Collins C7. Yolmer Sanchez 2B8. Matt Skole 1B9. Daniel Palka RFSP: Ivan Nova ® 10-12, 4.86 ERA Weather: 79 degrees. 4% chance of rain. 8mph winds blowing out! (more bombas???)
twinssporto Verified Member Posted September 18, 2019 Author Posted September 18, 2019 By the way, just an idea. I think starting tonight and through the playoffs and World Series we should name or nominate 1 or 2 "Game Thread Captains" to each game thread. If we're gonna pull this team through we need to start building up the leadership around here. These game thread captains need to manage paranoia, jinxes, bad vibes, etc. This is a team effort people! I officially nominate anyone but me...Aggies would make an interesting choice though!
Dantes929 Verified Member Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 You only stayed up until the final out was made? Dude, you should have stayed up longer!! After Sano made the final out Gonzo got a two run single, Arraez singled, Wade singled and the game ended when Torreyes got hit which brought in the final run. We won!!!!

Bomba2026 Verified Member Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 So since the excellent B squad is in should I assume Gonzales re hurt his side? And I know people here will know, but what time is the game Fri? Tickets say 7:10 but I thought the weeknight games are at 6:40? Let's have lots of Bombas tonight and put another nail in Cleveland's coffin!
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 A good time for a sweeparooni. Oh, does anyone else think Jimenez is the real deal and that Moncada has the aura of Eddie Rosario about him i.e. you never know what to expect from him?

Every win allows for more time off for Kepler and Marwin. Go Twins!

Moncada is already all star level, while Eloy can easily get there. If they can find cheap free agents and develop some pitchers a la Twins, they’ll contend for years to come

Kind of like Baltimore in most years.

Although the White Sox have a worse record, I feel like there can be an argument that the Orioles, Blue Jays, and Red Sox are equally as bad as the Tigers, Royals, and White Sox.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 LaTroy just said Odorizzi was efficient with his pitches.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Strike 'em out, throw 'em out, nice double-play! Heckuva throw by Castro.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 LaTroy just said Odorizzi was efficient with his pitches. That's just bad commentating.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 1-0 Tigers bottom 3rd

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Just missed Tommy
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 I'm mystified how a team like the White Sox can have so many excellent players but lose so much. Was this the Twins just a few years ago?
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Don't know if Arraez needed to jump there.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Goodness Luis! Misjudged that one badly
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 I really wish we would stop throwing infielders into the outfield.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Don't know if Arraez needed to jump there. I think that it hurt his timing to jump
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 10 of the 16 ChiSox pitchers have ERAs over 5. Imagine what they'll be like if they can get some just mediocre arms.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 I really wish we would stop throwing infielders into the outfield. he hasn’t that bad very frequently. If this is to continue next year, he gets some time in LF in the offseason Same to be said about Rosario too. Maybe Falvine can get a two for one at drive-line or whatever
Bomba2026 Verified Member Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Eddie needs to be in LF, but at least Arraez did not run full speed into the wall and knock himself out! I see Jake's got his usual game going...
