Good game though. Too bad we didn't have one more veteran reliever out there to get us out of this mess! Still a chance to come through in the bottom of the inning.

Graterol threw 96 mph fastball in the middle of the plate when runners are at the corner. Not good. Major league hitters will make good contact.

Did we learn anything from this, friends? Prime time is for the cream of the crop, not rookies!

Not trying to rub it in or anything. Just saying that this was more than predictable. I've seen my fair share of baseball. Maybe Thorpe should have been left in. I don't know. I do, however, know that flamethrowers sometimes have a tendency to not hit their spots. HUGE win for Cleveland, if they win this. Literal season saver.

I would like to see both Thorpe and Littell on post season roster instead of Graterol. He is not yet ready against tough matchup.

Well done, Cleveland. You survived by the hair of your chin. Goal now is we must win one of the next two. Twins must take at least one of these three.

Dear Analytics Department

 

Some real world old school advice to all the analytical folks at Puckett Place

 

All of your great shifts are awesome but they are based on averages against every pitcher faced, which while generally effective....I sure wish common baseball sense would be applied when it's close and late AND facing 100MPH pitcher

 

Death by overthink

 

Graterol gets a sharp grounder to second to end the inning because Perez is late on a heater

 

It's still baseball played by humans not robots

Sometimes you just gotta tip your cap to the batter for hitting a good pitch where he doesn't usually hit them.
