USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 I am laying 3-2 that, before all is said and done, we hear Gibby's struggles are related to the "long half innings from the offense."
obtusebanter Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Gibson just looking to set the record for WPA... By the way, what's the lowest theoretical WPAa pitcher could have? Theoretically: infinity. Just imagine a never ending back and forth ball game where each team scores a single run in each half inning.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 MLB has to start to seriously consider relegation.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Good game down in Tampa..0-0 in the 5th!! Lets go Rays... And Tyler Naquin just hit the wall super hard and is down..doesnt look good
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Nice hustle from the Tiger catcher there.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Nothing like getting to the Tigers’ bullpen in the third inning in a four game series. Also, the goal for tonight’s game...score as many runs as Gibson gives up the previous inning.Nothing like getting into ours in the same inning. Gibson is total trash tonight. He should be pulled.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 I am laying 3-2 that, before all is said and done, we hear Gibby's struggles are related to the "long half innings from the offense."If the opposing pitcher can't get hitters out, why should he? Unfair rules you're playing by, Chief.
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Man...the Tigers are not a good baseball teamA little presumptuous to be making moral judgements about them, don't you think?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Nothing like getting to the Tigers’ bullpen in the third inning in a four game series.I was thinking about that earlier and realized: It doesn't matter. Not even a little bit. Rotating through Tigers' pitchers is like deciding whether you want the steak or the creme brulee.

IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Hard to believe the Twins have not hit a grand slam this yearI'm pretty sure we have at least one. However, the opponent and approximate date escape me.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 In nature, life eats life. The strong prey upon the weak and the infirm. So it is with the Twins feasting upon a struggling Tigers team. Like water buffalo crossing an African stream, some will be consumed so that the herd can live. Do not avert your eyes, Twins fans. The savagery of nature is cyclical. There will be future Tigers, and there will be more Twins. For now, the buffet is in our favor.

MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Theoretically: infinity. Just imagine a never ending back and forth ball game where each team scores a single run in each half inning.I hadn't considered that. I was stuck thinking about a 9-inning affair, and couldn't see the forest for the trees. Thank you for giving me perspective.

Blake Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 If everything you were throwing was getting hammered, would you be in a rush to throw?Yeah, figure you might tire the batters out at some point.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Oh, so Gibson remembered that he's a pretty good pitcher and the Tigers are an awful offense. What a novel approach.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 90 mins to go 3 innings.....
