That game was Cruel & Unusual Punishment for Twins Fans.

Cron could have atoned for failing to scoop that horrible Polanco throw, but NO.

We're starting to see why Cron was waived by TB despite 30 HR last year. Who's the general consensus as the Twins 1B of the future? Maybe even next year?

I'm just relieved because I thought I was in the Twilight Zone for a minute there. What? The Twins are going to win 2 in a row and have a feel-good series? No, of course not. Back to the reality of the 2019 season.

Bad loss and another kick in the head.

So sick of losing these types of games. Make a play, pitch a clean inning!

All of that said, they missed chances all througout the game game and Gibson having another short start doesn't help anything.

It would be nice for the Twins to have another aspect of their game that is above average. Of course the offense is above average, but starting pitching, bullpen, defense has all been average or below average this half.

To be very blunt, this season is getting really old really fast. Ever heard of carrying momentum into the next game? No? Me neither. At least not in 2019.

It's won 72 of them by the middle of August.

Sorry, but I beg to differ. Bludgeoning teams to death, like what happened a lot early in the season, doesn't require pluck. On the other hand, losing winnable games and saying they had a lot of pluck sounds like a shallow moral victory, at best. And there's been more than a few of those games in the past month or so.

I just don't know what was going through the front office's mind when they constructed the bullpen in the offseason. A bunch of risky acquisitions (that they later DFA'd) held together by Rogers as closer. Then they try to patch it together with inexperienced AAA guys and deadline acquisitions. Kind of puzzling

This loss is on the defense.

Good riddance.

And it's also on Romo for throwing meat over the middle of the plate after 2 strikes. It's really stupid!

It's really hard not to be mad about obvious bullpen deficiencies, and then let the frustration lead to a general anger at how the MLB functions more broadly.

Balls being juiced are not bad for baseball, it's all of these spending/risk adverse front offices that continually guarantee that only a handful of teams are relevant in the post season every season.

Baseball is still fun to watch, but when you are capable of diagnosing an obvious problem like the Twins bullpen literally all season, and then continually watch as you are proven right, you have to feel like the Twins organization really doesn't care about us fans, and just want to fill seats and sell a bunch of Bomba shirts.

I'm going to keep watching, but it's going to be so heartbreaking to watch the bullpen continue to perform like this going into the postseason.

I honestly think it's because they spent so much money on the lineup that they did not have any more left of what was allotted to spend on the bullpen. Yes, it's true that their team payroll is rather low but I really think it boils down to not having any more money to spend on other areas of the team. If they had any money left, they would have most certainly have signed Keuchel or Kimbrel. Not signing Kimbrel is the evidence that they had no more money to spend on the payroll.

They've been playing with razor thin margins all season. If they don't expose a pitcher too much maybe they'll see some success (i.e. Mike Morin, Trevor May, the never ending AAA shuttle)

Once they need a pitcher to do just a little bit more, they're exposed, and we see results like this.

I don't make a habit of giving any credit to Gardenhire, but you do have to admit that those Twins teams of the 2000s were fun to watch. Why? Because a lead actually meant something in those days. If you had a 2 run lead in the 7th, you felt good.
