Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Let's go Twins. This week isn't going to be easy, but I hope it's fun
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 The game sounds so much more professional when Jim Kaat is on the call.
S. Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Speaking of broadcasters, are we getting Morneau back for more games this season?
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 With castro a free agent, i would give Garver75% of the action, Find out Now!!!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Speaking of broadcasters, are we getting Morneau back for more games this season? I believe this month. He had a child
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 It hasn't been pretty, but Odo didn't allow any hard contact his first time through the order.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Jake doesn’t look sharp, so much for an extra day rest
bighat Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Brutal pitch count for Odorizzi right now, but we'll take the goose egg. That walk to the struggling Braves hitter was not a good look. C'mon, bats!
HawksNest Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Odo is gonna have to tighten it up. Also, looking like it COULD be a bullpen game unless he works on the pitch count
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Welp, we’re going to get a good long look at the bullpen tonight.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 It hasn't been pretty, but Odo didn't allow any hard contact his first time through the order.too bad he’ll be done after five innings
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Jake really needs to work on keeping that pitch count under control
Rosterman Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 So, we want to have a SOLID bench for this game. Garver, Cron, Schoop and Sano all available for pinch-hitting or late inning defensive play.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 too bad he’ll be done after five inningsOr 4 the way he’s going.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 texas 1-0 over cleveland 6th inn
S. Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 I know we get spoiled by Buxton, but that was a really nice catch by Duvall.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Twins are winning time of possession.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 I heard Mr. Kaat ask about the pitch count and where it came from, so, I'm going to toss a theory out there: The pitch count has very little to do with wear and tear on the arm and a lot to do with how many times a pitcher has gone through the rotation. If the average AB lasts 4 pitches, on a 100 pitch count limit, (I'm too lazy to look it up, so, grain of salt and all that) that's 25 outs or almost three times through the order. I believe it's pretty well established that most pitchers, after the third time through the order, stand a good chance of getting hit around the park pretty good. Again, a theory, or, speculation, on my part.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 We need to spend more time in the dugout and less in the field. Jake has zero pace to his game
bighat Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Odorizzi pretty clearly not going to pitch to Freeman or Donaldson.
HawksNest Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Donaldson knows it, wow. Power move, tbh
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Odo playing with too much fire here...
HawksNest Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Man, Odo is living on a wing and a prayer right now
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 This is Odorizzi for you - about 20 pitches an inning, but he'll usually get outs when you need him to. Getting 4-5 innings of great pitching is nice but the 6th/7th inning can look like a mirage for him most times.
