bighat Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Dang, Eddie has been having terrible luck with these line shots - this is the 3rd single off the wall this series! We'll take that run. HUGE!
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I'm glad we scored! But what's Rosario doing?
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Rosie's gotta stop Cadillacing on those rips to RF unless he absolutely knows it's going out. No reason why he shouldn't have been going into 2nd standing up there.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 He never ran till it hit the wall, Not the brightest baseball mind
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I can’t be sure, but I suspect Rosario was admiring what he thought was a HR. He’s pretty fast. He should have been to second easy after that bobble.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 It looked to me that Eddie took too long looking at where that was going to land, then compounded it with going too far towards second.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I think both at this point. At the very least Smeltzer's floor is a left handed LOOGY. Problem is, there are quite a few of those guys. However, I do think he is better than just a loogy. I don't think he is probably as good as he's shown (it is the Royals, but it is still an MLB lineup.) I think I would be comfortable with him as the #5 next year if you go get another top tier starter and resign one of the the three upcoming FA's. I don't think we can dismiss the Royals lineup as they've got some good young talent there.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Im not allowed to use Smeltzer's performance as a counterpoint? It’s not an exact equivalency, so, you can use it, but be prepared for counter-counterpoints.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Very nice play by Arraez. I was expecting him to put together great at bats (obviously not as good as he has been, but still good at bats because of his style of play). I wasn't expecting the + defense at 2B though
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 It’s not an exact equivalency, so, you can use it, but be prepared for counter-counterpoints. Do they teach you that in music school?
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I worry about Rogers being overused. I hope that he is not needed for another few days.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I think I would have rested Rogers extra for Atlanta and Cleveland. Seven games next week.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 And over at Indians Daily, they're probably wondering if the Twins will ever lose again.

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Big game today, gonna b a fun week
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Now we're crowin' about our first baseman (instead of raven at Mauer).

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Do they teach you that in music school? In fact, Counterpoint was one of my favorite classes. Our final was fugue writing ... we had to write 2-part and 3-part fugues. I still have them somewhere.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Didn’t the Royals lose their challenge?
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Great win! And I am happy for Smeltzer.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Welcome back... Please wait til the ride comes to a complete stop. When it does, the belt will click open automatically and you can raise your shoulder harness. Grab small children by the hand and exit to your right. Thank you for riding the TBE and enjoy the rest of your stay here at Target Field.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 TWINS WIN!!!!!!!!!! WOW, some fantastic plays in the 9th inning to get win #69 on the year for your first place Minnesota Twins!!! So happy for Smeltzer getting his first big league win, and we have a sweep!!! Hitters showed up when they needed to, and the bullpen did it's job against a poor Royals team. The difficulty of opponent takes a big step up tomorrow, but I am confident in this team! Enjoy your Sunday night, and see y'all here tomorrow!! Go Twins!!
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 What a catch by Cave!!! I'm surprised it didn't roll to the wall!!!!
