operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I was hoping for an in the park there. Dang.Drew Butera style!
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Is this game a "total system failure?"Yes
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Bottom of the inning. This is ours for the taking!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Just keep raking them bases clean!
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Alright boys let's hang an 11 spot on 'em for the win!!!!
SpicyGarvSauce Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Maybe this game will push the Twins into sell mode.
lukeduke1980 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Well I bet the Pohlands are happy. Meltdown team = less attendance = less money = more excuses to not do anything at the deadline.Tickets have already been sold. Beer sales will go up with performances like this
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I blame myself for not writing a proper intro. Things to think about. Hitting can win games. Don't get out. We're all in the same boat. Everyone grab an oar. Or a paddle if you aren't locked in. Skirts on, and be prepared for an eskimo roll or to when all seems lost.
srjr19 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 If Eihre pitched to Sano 10 times, how many times would Sano strike out?
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Sano k’s looking while down by 10This comment actually made me laugh out loud! Thanks I needed that!!!
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Sano k’s looking while down by 10No problem at all! His OPS is still above .850. Nothing to worry about.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Imagine if you had a work meeting before the 7th inning started and you just got out of it
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I'll give a recap of what Rocco will say to the media after this one: "Today wasn't our day. The guys had good at bats. We battled, but we couldn't pull out a win."
scottz Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Hi, I'm new here. Does this team lose three games in a row like this all the time?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 No problem at all! His OPS is still above .850. Nothing to worry about. And it wasn’t a clutch situation so
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Basically the point is I should stop caring about this team so I can stop taking years off my lifeOr relax and just try to enjoy the ride..
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 7 unearned runs. May need to tighten up the defense.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Or relax and just try to enjoy the ride.. I try to relax, but being on this Twins ride for the past 10 years has been pretty bumpy.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 94 games to get their first 3 game losing streak - at least it happened in epic fashion
gocgo Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I just want to hear the managers post game comments. The temptation would be to go off, but I would guess he will show restraint - "capable of playing better"..."need to regain some focus"..."stop trying to fool batters with curve balls"...ok maybe not that last one.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Imagine if you had a work meeting before the 7th inning started and you just got out of itI don't have to imagine

Dr. Beanpole Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Holy hell people take a deep breath. It's alright, games like this happen from time to time. The Twins nearly swept Cleveland coming out of the break, took Edwin Diaz to his breaking point last night, and let defensive miscues and a laughable bullpen outing ruin a 2 game series at home. Let's just come back tomorrow and hope it goes better than the last 3 innings did today. We're not taking on water just yet.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I guess we can talk all we want about versatile play, but ultimately the players have to be as good in the field as they are at bat. And even though there are lots of unearned runs, there were still pitches thrown that were put in play. Talk about a depressing afetrnoon of baseball in front of a crowd absking in excitement BECAUSE the Twins are in first palce and have never lost more than two games in a row all season. Okay, two decent games by our back-of-the-rotation starters. Whew. That's a good feeling. We got two sluggers back in the fold, now only really down Buxton because Arraez and Schoop (two entirely different players) still produce, when necessary. The big elephant in the room is leaving runners on base. And what can be done with Sano (who did have an 11-game hitting streak, but can you give him a thousand bucks everytime he doesn't swing at something low and outside? Tell him he ahs to take the first two pitches thrown him no matter where they are thrown, and if he gets a two-strike count that way, he will be replaced by Arraez so the Twins can save the at bat? I like Trevor May, I have hopes that he will be one of the keepers, but..... The Twins need one rotation arm and a closer, and a luxury of a second bullpen arm if Perez or Pineda don't seem to be a bulpen fit. Now if they were sellers, look at the weath of matrial they have to offer: Castro, Schoop, dangle Sano, Gibson, Pineda, dangle Perez, Gibson, Adrianza. Unfortuantely would just bring back too much talent in a system that is already bursting at the seams.
