Based on recent events, that wouldn't surprise me in the least. I don't know all the reasons, but this team looks absolutely nothing like what it did most the first half of the season.

 

What we thought were the mighty have come crashing down to earth in a major way.

We’ve been average since well before the All Star break (since early June). This isn’t a recent development.

 

This house of cards started to fold a long time ago. I don’t care what the “baseball guys” think they know about the trade deadline, Falvine is botching this by not bringing in pitching help. It may be unbotchable at this point. Honestly, I think the Indians are going to blow by us, and it will be over with weeks left in the season.

 

At this point, If they decide to trade some serious prospect talent, and they’ve let this thing get so far out of control that we lose the division or get bounced in the wildcard round, they’re going to look real bad. I think it would be reasonable to start wondering whether they can do this (considering they’re winning with talent primarily acquired under the previous regime).

 

Watching Adrianza throw 60 mph while being down by 10 runs to the lowly Mets is embarrassing. We’re going to swept without seeing DeGrom or Thor. It’s time to concede this nice little run is over.

The question has to be asked.  Is this what the twins are? Bad defensively and inconsistent all-or-nothing offensively.  Is what we saw in April and May just a fluke?
