Game Thread Mets @ Twins 12:10 PM 7/17/19

[Tomj14]

So we are going to complain about 6 innings, 5 hits, 2BB (one HBP), and 1 earned run in 83 pitches?

[twinsbaby]

We need more runs to save Rogers in this series.

Tuned in at the exact right time!

I feel really badly for you folks. These game threads are both gamey and threadbare.

Carry on.

[Nine of twelve]

Lots of griping about a pitcher who has given up 1 earned run in a 6-inning outing. Tough crowd.

[stringer bell]

Not dominant, but pretty effective.

The end results? No. But it was clear from my chair that Perez was all over the place and that the pitches that were in the zone were very hittable. The Mets got a lot of good swings. That Perez escaped with as little damage as he did is a statement on the Mets’ anemic offense.

Dick just mentioned that the Twins haven't had a 3-game losing streak yet this year. I think this is the first time I've heard that.

I don't know. Are we?

[SpicyGarvSauce]

This is a pretty uninspiring and bad performance against a poor pitcher.

[snotboogie]

Tough crowd.

Most teams spend their season avoiding tense situations.

Twins get into tense situations.

Sorry...

I'll try to do better.

I too pine for the pig lipstick days.

May...stop throwing the damn breaking ball

[bighat]

Why 30 year-old Trevor May and his career 4.69 ERA is still being used like some up-and-coming shut-down bullpen arm is beyond me.

Aw, they fell victim to the classic blunder. Most famous of which is to never get involved in a land war in asia. But only slightly less well known: never get a runner on third with no outs!

May...stop throwing the damn breaking ball

Too late.

[operation mindcrime]

Nice job May!!!

[Aggies7]

So where will this season rank among all time Minnesota choke jobs?

[SpicyGarvSauce]

LOL, classic.

The dude just doesn't learn. Go back to Twitching, bro.

[FLTwinsGuy]

Wow.....just wow.....

[MNT1996]

Get May off this team

May...stop throwing the damn breaking ball

He should stop throwing the breaking ball in the middle of the plate.

[operation mindcrime]

On an 0-2 count! How embarrassing!!!!!

They switched bats while my back was turned...

0-2 breaking ball leads to a 3-run homer. Sound familiar?

Well he can't locate it anywhere else so he may as well just stop throwing it

[SpicyGarvSauce]

Dominic Smith is slugging over .700 against curveballs in 2019.

Classic.

Same thing happened last week.

[Aggies7]

Same thing happened last week.

Not even last week, Sunday

At least we don't have to worry about the runner on third...
