Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 17 of Cleveland’s next 20 games are against teams with losing records. The only 3 that aren’t are against the twins
bighat Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I think we all knew that the rag-tag bunch of Odorizzi, Gibson, Perez, and Pineda weren't going to get this team to the playoffs. They had a good run, got hot at the right time, and have overachieved beyond our wildest dreams. The Twins have built a strong lead thanks to those guys.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Punchless first trip through the order. Better get it sorted, Rock and Co.
bighat Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Buxton hasn't looked too good since coming back. It was to be expected. He's one guy that might not benefit from the long break.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Team needs a boost... Hopefully through trades.

Someone on here got on me for suggesting that so many guys pitching wildly above their career norms wasn’t sustainable in the long run.

Someone on here got on me for suggesting that so many guys pitching wildly above their career norms wasn’t sustainable in the long run. Yeah criticism isn't always well received. I get it, we can't just rip every player a new one every time they ground into a double play. But I have to agree, expecting Perez, Odorizzi, Gibby and Pineda to make up 80% of a World Series staff is a pipe dream. Instead of being angry about it, I guess the flip side is to appreciate how things came together for a while there. This team still has a chance thanks to them. But yeah, I'd imagine all of them will pitch to a 4.50 ERA or higher for the 2nd half of the year.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Gibson's balance point is wandering left and right today. He needs to be on point to get guys to swing at his junk, which needs to start out over the plate, then break off the plate. When he's slightly off balance, then his pitches start off outside the zone, so guys won't swing. Plus, the A's have smart hitters with good discipline. They know how to attack Gibson: 1. Make him throw strikes.

twinsbaby Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 This team have all-or-nothing swing right now. They don't want to take a walk.

twinsbaby Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Finally, Twins come back to the earth to show why Indians are considered to win this division easily.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Hindsight is 20-20, but Gibby's trade stock was pretty high about year ago right now... and apparently we needed him for a 2019 playoff run. Boy, if only they traded Gibson and kept Pressly...
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Credit Gibson for getting out of a scary jam there.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Problem is, a quality of anything is a quantity of something. Trick is to figure out which things, which can be quite a thing itself. You can have it fast, or cheap, or quality. Pick two.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 We gonna get a baserunner tonight or what?

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 And in other baseball news, the Yankees team in the Dominican Summer League beat the Twins 38 - 2 today.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I would have bet money that Gibson was gone before the fifth.

twinsbaby Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Watching Buck swing is very panic. He can't see the ball well.
