Local Clockwatcher claims he can write a better game thread.

At the coffee machine in the break room, handyman Earl tells coworkers that game thread intros have gone down hill in recent years. They weren't as lively as back when he first joined the site. Most of the folk coming through just shrugged it off, and returned to work. "He's always on about something, best to leave him be untilhe gets it out of his system." But Epy-Sue, a recent hire, egged him on. "And i suppose you could perhaps hit better'n Kepler too, eh? That's just swingin' a stick, right?" "Oh sure could, why just lemme at it, i'll..." at which point the Boss leaned through the door. "Breaks over! Everyone Back to Work!" And folk dispersed.

But that wasn't the end of it apparently. Our source uncovered this in Earl's trash after hours.

Handful o' Things to think about:

1. A's

Team made famous by the Fonz, since broke ties with the Italian Peninsula and moved out to the west coast, but took the Colisseum with them, honoring their Latin heritage by keep the Elephant on their logo, in memory of Hannibal's alp adventure.

2. Twins

Strangely enough, Twins were once the Senators, who's influence in Roam dwindled as the Colisseum grew in popularity. This matchup has been coming for a long time.

3. The Homer

Not just a Simpson any more, he seems intent on getting royalties from his epics.

Oh wait, meant the long ball. Been a lot of them.

4. Foul territory.

It is like the Twilight Zone, where things can be fielded, the but the batter doesn't get anything from it.

5. The Balk.

Chickens don't like to be eaten. Wait for it...

6...

Once again the two game losing streak is on the line. Fourth time since June 16. The Twins are 6-9 during that stretch. They won’t slug their way out of this, last night proved that. They need pitching.

I stand on the shoulders of giants... in the sky.

I read something years ago that claimed Isaac Newton was actually taking a jab at a rival who was a man of somewhat limited stature.

Thank you for explaining all that A's stuff in item #1.

Now go get 'em, Sens.

(Might ask Riverbrian what to do to celebrate)

You get to wear a tuba for a hat.

Oakland always plays the Twins tough. Luckily, the Twins always play Oakland tough, too. A couple of tough, scrappy teams going at it with bats, balls and gloves. Pants will get dirty, hair will get mussed, and feelings may be hurt. Mid-season baseball takes no prisoners, asks no quarter. Win or lose, there can only be one outcome, because when the game ends, you can't have a tie. And I, for one, am not ready to have games decided by some quantum AI super computer running countless simulations, even if the damn things are always right. I just don't cotton to 'em.

LEN3 tweeted out that the team seemed to lack energy in the clubhouse before the game. He can’t recall seeing them in such a way this year. Not good.

I was just about to type- an error and a walk to start the inning: recipe for a Nibbler-Blow-Em-Up Inning.

Then, boom.

That's the kind of stuff that's showing up in the way they've been playing lately. Yes, it's a hell of a long grind of a season, and guys naturally are going to get tired, but you know, you get to put on a major-league uniform, and get out on the grass in front of thousands of folks who paid an honest nickel for their seats. Get your damn self up for that, or go find yourself a desk at Dunder Mifflin. See if you can get up for that day after day.

Is there anything like a team cap'n there? Sounds like a few of the kiddies need a cattle prod up their....

I'll never forget Morris talking about Gibson and his absolute frustration because Gibson has good stuff yet, can't seem to get things together.
