I hate being critical... Sometime the ball bounces the wrong way.

Those were two (not professional) plays that cost us potentially two runs.

Kepler not going to third to set up for a possible tag is ignoring fundamentals that should be instinctive at the professional level.

And not squaring to ensure you get the bunt down on a squeeze play is more of the same.

The pitch was a ball and outside but he wasn't squared.

They are young... but... younger than they are (like high school level) should know to both tag and square respectively in those situations.

Kepler would have been thrown out at home and then you could have complained that he went. Buxton missed a bunt. NEXT.

Winning a World Series 2 seasons ago can prevent most melt downs. Twins are at 17 years since any series win. The pessimism is legit

Well, my pessimism comes from the Twin Cities not having a sports championship since I was born...

But my point was more along the lines of that in baseball, good and bad teams have hot and cold streaks. The Twins were never going to win 110+ games and hit 400 HRs... but I can imagine this team getting hot again in a few weeks and we'll quickly forget most of these bad games.

I loved the call. If only it had been executed correctly. Which was expected to happen.

And certainly without any risk at all.....  Buxton doesn't bunt well to begin with and then gets a tough pitch to handle. Single puts them up one, let him swing the effing bat.

On the other hand, the Twins have improved a lot more than the Astros this year.

I agree that nights like this foster pessimism, but it's been a long time since I have seen so many strong reasons for hope. In my opinion, if the Twins can get another playoff level starter and another strong reliever or two, then they have a shot. It's been a long time since I have thought that.

They avoided injuries for most of the year until about the last month-ish. I think that has something to do with it. Then again, look at the Yankees. Even their PBP guys are going down to injury

Hard to improve on the 103 games they won last year but yes I agree

I stand corrected... you've convinced me that dancing 10 feet off of third was the right thing to do in that situation.

And yep... I got a long history on Twinsdaily of attacking players for aggressive play and getting thrown out at home.

Fair point.

I get it.

But also 70-80% of suicide squeezes are successful.

(I need to find a reliable source for that though).

It's 60o in Oakland, why is the right fielder wearing a ski mask?

This is speculation, but it may be to filter out ambient cannabis chemicals wafting from fans with vaporizers.

Good job by Polanco.

Now, let's hope it's not a Snapper-Give-It-Back Inning coming up- 3 dangerous dudes in a row this inning.

Extra inning west coast game?

I am going to DVR the rest of this and ask Siri for scores. Time for my nightly walk. I trust that the Twins and all of you have this.

Holy....

When Harper's got that yakker working- yikes!

That thing broke the height of a full-grown man.
