operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Very frustrating ABs by Buck and Kepler. At least Kepler moved the runner over!
MNTSchmitt Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 That's our Minnesota Twins... making their way into the record books again. Granted Hurricane Irma was on it's way, but still...it was mostly Twins fans at the game. I hung out with Eddie Rosario's uncle.
curt1965 Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 You can't be doing that crap against the Rays. Cmon now.I know everyone loves Astradillo, but his lack of hustle(or whatever) really hurt! Looked like they were on their way to a big inning- yuck. The turtle hasn’t hit the ball hard for a month. Swinging on the first pitch every time was cool when the pitchers weren’t aware of that. Twins need to consider sending him down when Garver comes back. Finally!
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 What was that about Astudillo being the one who should be sent down?
bighat Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Astudillo making up for it, nice job Willians.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 3 pitches seen tonight by Kepler in 3 ABs I'm sensing a story problem coming on... "Max bats three times and swings at the first pitch all three times. At that rate, if Max bats four times, how many TD posters will call for his manager Rocco to bat him lower in the order?"
adorduan Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 In the long view it might be the best thing if the Rays swept the Twins. Maybe the fans and FO won't be deluded into thinking the team doesn't have holes to fill then.
twinsbaby Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Rosie needs to select pitches he can attack, not just swings for everything.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Rosie needs to select pitches he can attack, not just swings for everything. The ump rung Rosario up on two pitches down, away and outside the strike zone. If I'm the pitcher, I pitch Rosario there the rest of the night, figuring I'm inside his head now.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 I thought putting Astudillo at the #3 spot was a questionable choice by Baldelli, but I see it's worked out rather well. Also, this lineup needs Polanco - they didn't look the same without him yesterday. By the way, when the heck is Cruz coming back?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Rosie needs to select pitches he can attack, not just swings for everything. He's a little like Kirby in that respect... an astute ballplayer but also very proud of the fact that he can put just about anything near the plate in play. Selectivity is one of the few skills that tends to develop in the late 20's. As good as he is already, 30 more points of obp would be really nice for a guy batting that high in the order.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Berrios needs to be so much better if this team is going to do anything in October.
MNTSchmitt Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Wes Johnson had to have told Berrios to start using the change up during that mound visit. Has changed his performance tonight drastically.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 I can't help but be nervous whenever Berrios pitches for the Twins now. He just hasn't seemed like a lock down pitcher lately. I think Twins should shop for an high end pitcher at the deadline. Berrios seems like a #3 or #4 pitcher as of right now.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Looks like the Twins are about to get into the Pagan-Castillo-Alvarado trio, which is not good. Lets get one against Beeks.
snotboogie Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 So. Just tuning in. Had to perform my husbandly duties (grilling food for dinner - get you minds out of....whatever). What happened?
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 the fact that he’s slow isn’t what’s sad, what’s sad is that everyone is convinced he’s notTortuga or C.J. CRON ?? TO 1B ??
MNTSchmitt Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 I've been enjoying watching Marwin Gonzales play for us. He's gonna be helpful come post season time.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 A few sips into this real margarita, and I still can't think of anything funny. I mean, I got two earlier, but since the game started? Nada.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Berrios needs to be so much better if this team is going to do anything in October. He's a solid #2 starter, but they need an ace. Despite so many I've heard calling Berrios an ace, I disagree - they need a true frontrunner if they want a deep playoff run.
