Sano Out Until May

Looking for the silver lining, giving up on baseball early will leave the whole Summer for continuing civil conversations about politics.

This site needs a "love" button.....

I remember being as young as Sano yet, I knew how to put in the effort to be good at my job.

Which makes this sort of thing all the more puzzling to me because the thought of a full-time babysitter to make sure someone does their job really escapes me.

I know baseball teams have done the full-time babysitter in the past, but has Sano shown that he's got the talent for that extra effort?

I don't think he does, but I'm not Falvey who says the organization can't move forward until they know what they have in Buxton and Sano.

Thad Levine on Miguel Sanó: “I got a chance to see him when I was down in the Dominican and literally lay hands on him as appropriately as possible, hug him and touch as many muscle groups as I could.”

He must have started from the head and worked his way down...

How did I forget that quote? It was weird.

Ok, so Levine was there but we don't know when. If it was pre-mid January then there should have been nothing to see because it apparently didn't happen until after the league was done (mid to late January?).

For all those throwing the stones at Sano, may your body never betray you.

Clearly, two weeks ago, the doctors thought it would heal on its own.  Sano's been in a boot for 2 weeks--presumably compliant with the doctor's orders.  Fast forward two weeks, it didn't heal.

I know this is difficult for some of the posters to read, but sometimes that's what happens.

Bodies are weird things.  Sometimes lacerations don't heal right--even when you do everything in your power to coax along the healing process.  Sometimes extra medical attention is necessary.  When a laceration doesn't heal, you undergo a debridement procedure and restart the healing process.

Apparently he had a 'debridement procedure' at Mayo, according to the Trib. Thus, the extra recovery time.

It's a large hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, but that's not important right now.

I was going to go with "they granted him a divorce", but your way works too.

I'm glad someone gets my rye sense of humor.

One can only hope this is the end of the story...

(Which is still my favorite scene of the entire movie.)

The Twins have had Sano for over 2 weeks now. If Sano truly "did nothing," other than try to let it heal for a 3 week period before reporting, then aren't the Twins equally culpable for doing the same thing up to this point?

I'm as disappointed as anybody that he's starting the season this way, but I can't be upset with him because his body isn't healing as fast as we'd like.

It's official. Miguel Sano has inherited from Joe Mauer the bulls-eye on his back as the Twins player who is the greatest target of contempt from Twins' fans.  I wonder if they are having a ceremony back in Minny where Baby Jesus hands Miguel the bulls-eye and blesses him with baptismal water from Lake Minnetonka.

Byron Buxton was disappointed to not receive this distinction and promptly went 0-3 with 3 K's in a desperate attempt to wrestle the honor from his teammate.
