stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Game starts in a little over half an hour. Archer vs. Berrios. Should be a nice day for a game. If someone can post lineups, it would be appreciated.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 I love seeing Rosario in RF the last few days. I feel like he and Kepler should be switched around full time with the arm strength aspect, not sure why it hasn't been done yet.
jtkoupal Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Since I'm in Pittsburgh, I watched last night's game on Pittsburgh TV. I will be doing the same today. The announcers were in love with Target Field. It was cool to see. It's interesting to see what outsiders have to say about Target Field. By the way, if you have never been, try to make a trip to PNC Park. I saw the Twins there in 2015 and earlier this year. It's a beautiful park. If you haven't gone, put it on your list.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Adrianza at 1B instead of Austin? Seriously?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Why exactly is Ehire playing first?
mrmpls Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Polanco a error ? Ehire had it in his glove
mrmpls Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Sano looks better with the shorter hair,
blindeke Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Adrianza at 1B instead of Austin?Seriously? It's weird and already has gone wrong.
jkcarew Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 How do you know if Austin is going to hold his own against legitimate right-handed pitching if you don't let him try in these games? I can see sitting him in this situation in theoretical 2019 scenarios, but now now. (And we better have better alternative than Adrianza by then.)
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Berrios is having trouble putting them away, pitch count kinda rising

slash129 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Lot of pitches to get those three outs

As long as it isn't Gordon .... He's been sucking at AAA
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Before this year, Berrios has been a good day pitcher. But this year he's 3-6 and an ERA approaching 5. Hope he settles down and gets some quick innings going forward. Good to see the bats get to Archer, too.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Sano's batting .319 since July 30 in 47 ABs. Baby steps. Even with the last strikeout, he's looking like he belongs in the lineup.
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Wow, this is three games in a row against decent teams that Berrios has fallen apart. Not a good sign.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Jose looking more like hose B these days
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Would have liked to see Molitor let Berrios work out of that mess. Now is the time to let him work through those things. A pitcher, especially one deemed to be an ace, needs to learn to get out of a mess when he doesn't have his best stuff.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Now then, back to talking about Austin playing 1B....
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 So, after being (by today’s standards anyway) something of a workhorse in the first half, this is Berrios’ third start of his last 4 in which he failed to complete 5 innings. Concerns?
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Sano looks better with the shorter hair, Gotta adhair to those societal norms, you're saying?

slash129 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Fireman Duffey gets the call again EDIT: And it's such a slow thread that I can also report ... He delivered!
jkcarew Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Wow, this is three games in a row against decent teams that Berrios has fallen apart. Not a good sign. This was Berrios's 14th start of the year against teams that are 500 or better (currently). His numbers in those 14 starts: ERA - 5.56; WHIP - 1.49; W/L/(ND)- 2-7 (5); Team record in those games: 4-9 (with this game in the balance).
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Not playing Austin.......I am not in favor of this manager at this point....
