yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Fireman Duffey gets the call again EDIT: And it's such a slow thread that I can also report ... He delivered! It appears Molitor has forgotten that Trevor May is on the roster as well.
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 It appears Molitor has forgotten that Trevor May is on the roster as well. I would think May gets the 8th with the top of the order coming. EDIT: Nope
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 May is hte closer today, is my guess. But that's a guess.

slash129 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Rogers has been almost automatic of late. I was a little worried with Bell turning around to bat right-handed, but worries extinguished.

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 I'm enjoying this team now as is. The effort's there. The results are often good. No playoffs this year, so the last six weeks are about building. A nice win streak would do wonders.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Gotta be him or Magill, right? Can't imagine Hildy back out there again today.Hildenberger only threw 7 pitches yesterday. Pitching back to back is something a closer will have to do. Sometimes 3 in a row.
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Forsythe was so bad for the Dodgers; his entire zone on gameday is still either light or dark blue.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 May is hte closer today, is my guess. But that's a guess. I guess not, Hildy is warming up.Makes little sense not to give May a shot. But whatever, The cookbook put him in the closer spot. Yah-freakin'-who I want to see others pitch.Except Addison Reed. He's further forgotten than May and Drake.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Rogers has been almost automatic of late. I was a little worried with Bell turning around to bat right-handed, but worries extinguished. Scoreless in last 10 outings 7.1IP this month, 2 hits, 1 HBP and 11 Ks. Radio says he's starting to use a slider he's worked on more.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 No May? I, um, hmmmmm. ok.IMO, not ok. He needs to be evaluated in situations like these. Yet MOY went to Duffy after 14 pitches yesterday and 21 Sunday (3 straight games). In that time, May has thrown 0. I don’t want May overworked, but underworking him isn’t beneficial either.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 And 2 days in a row double play ends the game 5th sweep of the year. 11 over at TField Horrid on the road.

Completely agree May needs the opps too. But hey, Danny says they're evaluating him on the closer role.Ok, he's passed. Next!
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Way to go bullpen! I had this as a split, but the two game sweep is solid against a solid team.

No playoffs this year, so the last six weeks are about building. A nice win streak would do wonders. They are not a great team, but they did not completely implode or start phoning it in when a good portion of the team was shipped out and it was clear that management had written them off for the season. I am going to choose to believe that is a good sign of the character of some of the future building blocks of the team (I have a fairly low threshold where I lean towards being a homer).

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 The Pine ups? Wouldn't that be the list of players on the bench? Yeah, i saw the typo after i'd posted, but decided it was both open to interesting interpretation and not worth the effort to correct. I am right about at least one of them, i think.
