Han Joelo Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Wow, Berrios' line has a lot of numbers. Maybe I should use that as a pin code--never going to see a line like that again from him. Right?
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Polanco!! Good time for that first one
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Wow, just happened to have a minute at work and saw the game being tied. That was fun!
wavedog Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Every time I step away some team scores 3 runs. Way to go Polanco!
Han Joelo Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Sweet--Polanco homering on gameday as I'm writing my first comment of the thread. Now my interest level has risen to having the radio on.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I just got done with a meeting and flip on the radio to hear Field strike out. My timing has been really, really poor lately.I just called up the gamecast and see Polanco hit a 3-run HR to tie the game at 4-4. I chose my timing... well.
mendozaline Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Sano sure looks like he is starting to get more comfortable at the plate, very encouraging. Bad call on that called third strike though.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 In the game, much like last night. Slow going then a HR and tied.Berrios came up small today. So it's on the cookbook bullpen.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Could be a lot of things. Maybe he just doesn't have it today. Maybe he's putting a little too much pressure on himself considering who he's facing off against. I'd imagine when you're facing Kluber and you give up the first run of the game that's a bit of a "gulp" moment. But he just got Alonso swinging here in the third, so maybe that'll put him back on track.Or maybe this is his third time facing the Indians this year and they have been able to get a good read on what he is trying to do to get them out. And, quality team that they are, they made an adjustment.
KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I'd like to see some predictions for September call ups. I see we are giving Johnny Field a look now. Jake Cave for a while now. Who else gets a look in September? Tyler Austin? Pineda...I hope. We'll have to see who's floating around on waivers....
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Polanco is probably never going to be an MVP candidate. He’ll likely never be an all star. But he is exactly the kind of guy teams that win have on their roster.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Moya seems to be getting the hang of this whole pitching in the major leagues thing.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Well now, a Twins coach actually got thrown out of a game?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I care too. At least a little. I hope we win.
Krusington Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Well now, a Twins coach actually got thrown out of a game? Don't blame him, even with a large strike zone you can't call some of those pitches strikes. I've been fortunate enough to watch this entire day game so far and there's been zero consistency which is the worst to deal with as a hitter.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Moya earning a spot in the cookbook pen. Who is next today Molly??
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Going for a 3rd inning with Moya.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Seems to me you have to go with Drake or Reed, right?
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Seems to me you have to go with Drake or Reed, right?Well shut my mouth, I guess not.

wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Don't blame him, even with a large strike zone you can't call some of those pitches strikes. I've been fortunate enough to watch this entire day game so far and there's been zero consistency which is the worst to deal with as a hitter.Nobody wins with an inconsistent strike zone. Awfully hard to pitch with an inconsistent zone too. All I ask from an umpire is consistency. Big zone, tight zone, whatever. Just be consistent. Players will adjust.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 So Moya gets 2 outs, now at 2.2IP, and a lefty up, and NOW you change pitchers? Um, ok.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Seems to me you have to go with Drake or Reed, right? You would think. But Molitor has shown time and again if he doesn't trust a reliever, they don't get used.or abused.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 1 pitch out to end the 7th. That'll keep the work load off.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I say a big "attaboy" for Moya. Well done.
gocgo Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Gonsalves, Romero (again), Austin is too obvious which means he won't be up, Wade, and for the heck of it, why not Lewis?I'm a little more worried about innings for both Gonsalves and Romero, so I'm thinking they might not get the call. Wade...yeah, he's hanging around out there.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Adrian Johnson is known to have a consistently inconsistent strike zone. He’s best known, though, for calling a ball off the bat of Carlos Beltran foul even though it appeared to kick up chalk and thus preserve Johan Santana’s no hitter with the Mets.
gocgo Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Outside of one really bad game, we've really battled Cleveland tough this year...so we've got that goin' for us...which is nice.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Get the antacid out, I feel a FRE coming on in the 9th no matter what the score is.
