  1. I think Dobnak is better suited to throw at Yankee Stadium than Odo. I'm predicting Dobnak goes 5.1 giving up 2 runs in whichever game he starts and we have a 3-2 or 4-2 lead when he exits. He just seems to get the job done lately.
  2. Imagine how good our bullpen would look had we gotten Dyson AND Smith from SF. Woulda coulda shoulda, sigh.
  3. Could they have used anyone else but Stewart when we made it 7-3? They punted the rest of the game by bringing him in when our offense can score in a hurry. Head shaking game from a managerial perspective even with Perez laying an egg.
  4. Just a wasted opportunity with men in scoring position
  5. They're really not going to pinch hit... does not make sense
  6. This is really just pathetic at this point, get rid of him.
  7. Pretty justified. The first strike call to Rosario was not even close.
  8. Umps are having a tough game already
  9. Get me over fastballs on the first pitch.....good plan
  10. We've played both of them very well this year. A couple meltdowns cost us against the Bronx. I do think Romo will help against the Yankees specifically. But yeah I'm definitely disappointed as well don't get me wrong.
  11. If the Twins don't make any moves the only bright side is that none of the other AL favorites have either besides CLE. Trying to look on the bright side..
  12. Maybe a precursor to a Ray deal? Twins swoop in at the end? They just traded their top SS prospect, I wonder if ours is in play...
  13. Last nights game felt like it could be a major turning point in the season, one way or another. The resiliency shown by the offense was incredible. The Yankees no doubt have a great team as well but I hope the collapse from the pitching staff doesn't make the season go off the rails. Deflating loss for sure.
  14. You would think we will have some reinforcements via trade by this weekend with them DFA'ing 3 relievers in the last week. One can hope.
  15. I don't think there is any chance that 2 top 10 prospects in all of baseball are going in the same deal for Stroman and Giles. I know Lewis and AK haven't exactly improved their stock to this point but it would absolutely blow my mind if that happened. I feel like it's one of the big two and spare parts or it's 2-3 high quality prospects and a lotto ticket. I would offer something like: Graterol, Rooker, Gordon, and Jeffers/Rortvedt. That might even be too much.
  16. But I think it's also important to have a mix. Duffey, McGill, May, and Rogers are all bringing it around 95 and up. I would assume if we pick up an addition or two, they will also be in that range. It doesn't hurt to have a guy who is a soft tosser to change up the looks mid-game. However, if hitters see him more than once in a series then yes he will have a tough time as we saw recently.
  17. You have to think with how well Blankenhorn has played this season he will be moved for pitching help within the next month.
  18. Stayed up for the whole thing, thankfully I'm in central time. Littell might be an intriguing piece, came in throwing 97. I did not know he was capable of that even out of the pen.
  19. Noticed this too and then realized it's an old box score. Looks like it's from 5/28.
  20. I wasn't sure about including Duran because I think at the minimum he's going to turn into a power pen arm. But, you have to give value to receive value so I'd have to asssume he would be in the conversation. I do think selling high on Larnach and Balazovic would be smart but I must admit, I don't know much about Balazovic other than the minor league thread reports.
  21. After a quick look it appears Toronto is light on C and OF prospects. I'd go something like: Larnach, Gonzalves/Alcala, one of Jeffers/Rortvedt and a lotto ticket for Giles and Stroman. Would that be enough?
  22. Sign Keuchel to a 1 year deal and move Pineda to the pen. Then go get Giles (Tor) and Smith (SF). They could also try and get Stroman and Giles in the same package, although I think that would be a pretty large asking price from the Jays.
  23. I was thinking the same thing about bringing in Rogers, but, I almost have to believe he was hoping Parker could sneak through that 7th inning and then Rocco would've went to Taylor for the final two innings. Especially with how Cleveland has struggled against LHP.
  24. If they can't bring in Grandal, I'd take a look at Maldonado. Gold glove catcher who could probably help Garver on the defensive end and I doubt he'd cost that much or require more than 2 years **Depending on if Castro is healthy**
