tvagle Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Silver lining 46 of last 80 are against the AL Central Win all of those and finish 81-81...maybe more of a grey-lining
jun Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 It's just my opinion. Unless it's a closer who might pitch in consecutive days, if a reliever can't go more than 1 inning preferably 2 innings, he probably does not belong in the major league.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 I think you are on to something. However, my solution would be to remove the free agents they signed. Well, there are a couple of veterans I'd look into releasing too.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 There’s something rotten on this team and in the organization. Someone has to find out what it is and fix it,
Danchat Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 I for one am glad Moya was able to go out there and get 6 outs without allowing a baserunner. Here's hoping he can force his way into staying on the roster for good, just like Hildy did last year.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Romero pitching nicely at Rochester this evening -- 5 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 7 K, 0 ER/R so far. And Buxton even got another hit.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Still trying to decide if it was a good thing or a bad thing that this game was only broadcast on Facebook. Since I'm a social media hermit, I tend to lean towards good thing.

Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Since June 22, the day after the HBP, Esco is 4 for 41, with 2 doubles. He’s striking out almost 25% of the time, has a .362 OPS, and a -11 wRC+. No one can convince me there isn’t something wrong that needs rest.Escobar has a long track record of being an average/mediocre hitter. That kind of performance over 40 PA isn't that surprising, just from normal statistical variation.

Since I'm a social media hermit, I tend to lean towards good thing.I didn't listen to the announcers, but I loved that there were basically no commercials, and they showed a lot of the between innings warmups. I'd take that again.

I loaded it in Chrome on my computer, and clicked the cast icon to send it to my Chromecast plugged into the TV. Then I shut the computer off. I think you can likewise cast from the Facebook app on a phone or tablet too. I bet watching the video within Facebook is problematic because of all the other stuff that Facebook is running at the same time.

David HK Verified Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 I cannot understand why Wilson is getting so many starts? Are they that afraid of Garvers glove? At least Garver has a chance at the plate, and we need to find out if he's part of our future at all. Wilson is not part of our future and is batting .130OK, first, I am glad this game happened while I was sleeping. But- come on, my God- Astudillo at 2nd base?!?!? He didn't even play there in Roch!!!! And he's only played a bare handful of games at 3rd in the minors! WHY WHY WHY is B Wilson behind the plate, and Willians at 2nd BASE!! And holy moley, what was Eddie R doing in the lineup in a day game after a night game in which he was completely sleepwalking?!?!? The guy just got pulled with heat exhaustion 2 days ago, and still looked like hell the next day. Are they trying to kill the guy? Yesterday's decisions were glaring example #638 of how badly this current team has been constructed and (especially) managed. Any number of TD posters would do a markedly better job than this. By MoY's own admission, he didn't put guys "in positions to succeed." Well, yeah, and that's been happening all along, none so glaring as this season. Injuries, suspensions, yadda yadda yadda.... It's on the dugout and FO to put the best team they can on the field. When they fall short of that simple task, it's time to move on. Get Ozzie in that dugout, and get things straightened out. Tanking is one thing, being a total embarrassment is another.
Tecmo Provisional Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Unless they are actively tanking, starting Astudillo at 2nd is inexcusable. Escobar has experience there at least not to mention Polanco. Or even better, let him catch, Wilson being used as the primary catcher is ridiculous.
Kelly Vance Verified Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 You don't even need to much about baseball. Just watch the man. He is totally divestedMolly doesn't look like he is having fun. And his post game pressers stop short of him reaching for a cup of hemlock, but just barely

Too crazy, too old, and too old fashioned. He probably doesn't even know what WAR is.
