Blake Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I got up this morning wondering where I was going to go with this game thread. Avoiding excessive negativity is in the style sheet:* *Kelly's Heroes and baseball. What's not to like? I have to admit, it's been an interesting year, because the Twins have definitely been getting some decent starting pitching. The bats, though, seem to come and go, which is puzzling, to say the least. Maybe a bit of motivation is in order?* *I knew I could work this clip in some how! In the end, though, baseball is still the best game ever invented, and while the home town nine may disappoint, baseball, in and of itself, never disappoints. *I got distracted watching these. They are a hoot! With that, I leave you with the following thoughts: Some observations from last night: 1. Adrianza brought the bat for a change.2. Escobar does it again.3. Odorizzi again gave the team a chance.4. The Sox do have some good young talent.5. Shake off that loss, Twins, it's another day! Play ball! Lineups:
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Highest OPS after the first 3 spots is Ryan LaMarre’s .671. Berrios better be sharp, because he’ll be lucky to get 2 runs today. I suspect we will see Cy Shields pitching for the Sox today. L, 3-1.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Garver and Wilson in the same lineup?! See, I'm torn about that because I really hate the illogical fear of losing the DH spot. "Oh no, there's a 1 in 200 chance the pitcher will have to get an at bat!" On the other hand, we're talking about Garver and Wilson, not Mauer and Redmond.
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Not to be negative...ok maybe it is a little bit, but this lineup looks like something Pedro Martinez could probably resurrect his career against, after the first 3 it drops off a cliff and into a bottomless pit
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 The last couple fake intentional walks and jump back into the catchers box looked tricky. I wonder what happened in the next inning? In that era there would have been one in someone's gluteus Maximus. Yup, 5-9. Our version of the Murderers Row. We are going to get so murdered! MOY must have had his advanced metrics report upside down when he made out the lineup.
Dantes929 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 This is the lineup we were supposed to have today.1. Buxton batting .3002. Mauer3. Sano batting .275 with 15 homers4. Rosario5. Dozier6. Morrison7. Polanco8. Kepler9. Castro

Dozier6. Morrison7. Polanco8. Kepler9. Castro Dozier would have never agreed to bat that low in the order. . That said its a far better looking group than the one further up in the thread.

Blake Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Author Posted June 7, 2018 Just kidding, chief! I'll be there for the rest of my scheduled threads.

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Yep, except for the 4 through 9 slots this line-up is a killer. And then there’s ESCOBOMB!!!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I wonder what would happen if Molitor would switch Dozier and LaMarre in the batting order?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 And man ... Esco is a Sox killer. He's the one we should think about extending.
slash129 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Who needs Gordon? We have Babe Adrianza!
OldTimeTwinkie Provisional Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I bet Kepler is agonizing not hitting against Shields today. 4 left handed hits today, zero right handed. Garver DH
slash129 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 It's nice to be on this side of walking the 9-hole hitter
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Any idea how Garver is DH, and Kepler is sitting? Seems odd.
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I wonder what would happen if Molitor would switch Dozier and LaMarre in the batting order? MOY would have to run that by BD and get back to you.
jtkoupal Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 James Shields has great body language! He just looks so happy to be out there
Blake Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Author Posted June 7, 2018 Adrianza went deep? Dogs and cats sleeping together!
mickeymental Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 apparently not a big game for james.
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Any idea how Garver is DH, and Kepler is sitting? Seems odd. IIRC (always open for debate) Sheilds has reverse lefty righty splits. So it would make sense to load your lineup with rightys. So of course today the leftys are obliterating him.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Author Posted June 7, 2018 That's insane. Ball looked like it started on the inside corner to Abreau and broke over the outside corner.
bighat Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Big fly, Eddie. Wayddago. That should do it.
