As the game thread went along yesterday, there was a person, who shall remain nameless, though his name rhymes with "pixel," who took a bit of umbrage at the game time being changed in the title.*

*I hasten to add, it was all in good fun. Don't hurt me, chi, I mean, Carole!

To go along with the game time confusion, we had baseball press who had the first game starting at 3:33am Eastern Time! *

*Glad chief didn't see that 'cause he might have given me the "chief look" and wanted to know why I was slacking off!

The Twins did well in their first game but ran into some trouble bringing home the chicken dinner in the second game.

Stuff to think about:*

billboard For rent 01

*You too, for the low low price of $$$$ can rent your own mountain!

Some observations from the day game:

1. Another excellent start by Mr. Romero.
2. The FRE does it again!
3. Nice to see Mr. Duffey pick up a win.
4. These late inning heroics are fun but nerve wracking!
5. Escobar!

Some observations from the night game:

1. Hard to win when the opposition is spotted 4 runs in the first inning.
2. Twins managed to survive the day without completely burning up the bullpen.
3. Mr. Littell got some MLB experience but at the expense of a loss. Why not bring up someone who's option clock is already ticking?
4. Of course, maybe Littell's option clock doesn't start when being called up for a double header. Anyone know?
5. Escobar!

Play ball!

As per usual, I probably won't be able to post lineups. Thanks in advance!

Option clock? Littell gets credit for one day of major league service. If it were someone who has already spent time in the majors, they would get one additional day of service. All players in the minor leagues who are on a minor league team and on the 40-man roster have already used their option for this year. Rehabbing players (like May and Santana) haven’t been optioned.

I know some were unhappy with the MoY in the latter game.... but not burning the pen was the right decision, imo.

Great open, guy whose name rhymes with cake....

I was more interested in riling up some elderly gentleman in AZ than giving a lot of thought to the MOY comment I made. Maybe it was reflexive on my part. Or maybe it couldn't be helped as Reed and Pressly were having their right arms surgically reattached? But if there was a place to do it that was the place. In my defense I might add that I do not think Molitors BP management was a on the plus side of his MOY ledger! :)

I had to read that again, because I thought you initially said an "elderly gentleman in CA."

I take umbrage at being called a "gentleman," sir!

It shows how bad the injuries are hurting the team when the Twins were one Escombomb away from being swept by the White Sox.

As well you should! :)

Take all the umbrage your heart desires! There is enough for everybody!

3 called strike! Sano is really the king of strikeout! He didn't even bother to swing at any pitches. I don't care how much talent this guy has. If he does not care to do his work, trade him for good prospects.

Without the injuries/suspensions...Escobar would have been on the bench :)

Not another double header?

I thought more than one game was postponed in April...

One game series on a mutual off day on August 20 and a doubleheader September 28.

Wow. The entire Sox team has rabbit feet in their pockets tonight.

It helps that the twins continue to be unable to drive a ball to the OF or the right side with a runner at third base

I thought Garver's baserunning gaffe was going to end up harmless, but it actually turned out to be much worse than I thought. I thought Molitor was supposed to be a good coach to teach baserunning, but this team has been awful at getting out at 3rd/home, stealing bases, and knowing when to advance.

Not really. The Sox are just getting crazy lucky right now. They lucked into two outs, both of which should have scored runs.

I wouldn’t call two ground balls crazy lucky. Good defensive plays? Sure, but this is MLB
