Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Pathetic. Horrible bullpen managing the entire way. Horrible by the Twins execution. Encouraging performance from LoMo, Rosie, and Kepler. Sano needs an off-day Vanimal46 and BoofBonser 2

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2018 Author Posted April 21, 2018 Well Duke screwed that one up big time. Pitchers have to have that down pat. Misses the base and then forgets about the runner. Oh Well.. Tomorrow is another day. Hosken Bombo Disco, LaBombo and BoofBonser 3

LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 (edited) Zach Granite and Zach Duke need to practice touching first base Fred McGriff made an outstanding instructional video of a drill to practice this play, using a small enclosed space and live chicken. Or it may have been Burgess Meredith in one of the Rocky movies. Either way, let's tune up those fundamentals, boys. Edited April 21, 2018 by LaBombo snepp, twinssporto and Platoon 3

TwinsCD Verified Member Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Nothing like walking the 9th hitter to face the only guy that’s been killing you. The lefty-lefty BS is so goshdarn overrated yet every manager subscribes to it and has subscribed to it for a generation. There's so much overmanaging involved in today's game thanks to numbers and stupid analytics rather than sticking to the 'feel' of the game. Reed's had a clean and easy 8th inning? Who cares, time to take him out because the book dictates that I have to put my closer in. Lefty pitcher to face a righty with a meaningless base open and a lefty on deck? Walk that batter to face the lefty. Nevermind that Span was loving every second of this opportunity and his speed won the game.
Darius Verified Member Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Hitting Gomez is terrible. It's time to get Rodney out of the closer role. That's two games already. Hosken Bombo Disco 1
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Is it bad to have a closer with a WHIP of almost 2? adorduan 1
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Really upsetting loss right thereGrand slam to tie it up in the 8th, go ahead home run in the 9th, blown save off a BS hit, Mauer makes an amazing play that no one will care about anymore because a veteran pitcher DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO FIELD HIS POSITION MY GOD Hosken Bombo Disco 1
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2018 Author Posted April 21, 2018 MLB had a better view of it. I think Duke may have got the bag but regardless... It was poor execution by Duke to give the ump a chance to miss the call.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Rodney, Duke, Molior and Lynn can share blame for that loss in that order. Brutal.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Time for Rodney to be stripped of his closer role. So, you make Reed the closer. Who pitches the 8th or the high leverage 7th inning? Rodney? Is that a better choice?
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 So, you make Reed the closer. Who pitches the 8th or the high leverage 7th inning? Rodney? Is that a better choice? How about go with your best reliever? Why does a reliever have to have a certain role in a certain inning? Isn't the job to get guys out no matter the inning?

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Rodney, Duke, Molior and Lynn can share blame for that loss in that order. Brutal.Molitor is at the top of the list of who to blame. Rodney didn’t intentionally hit Gómez, and only a fluke hop off the mound tied the game. The other players didn’t make a conscious decision to blow the game. Molitor intentionally sent Lynn out there for the 7th. Mike Sixel 1
