"Hit 'em where they ain't"

aka. Potpourri intro...

1. Waiting is not the hardest part. Leastwise as mentioned in the song.

I think the tip of the needle that plays the record to broadcast the song which excites one to dance... or at least listen, then scratch your head and mumble something about the needle probably having a diamond in it, which wins hands down most hardness contests... Principly scratching without being scratched.

2. AKA is a TLA, aka a three letter acronym, standing for Also Known As.

3. Safety Last.

A fine silent movie starring Harold Lloyd and a building. Perhaps referencing the general importance of safety as a general consideration, usually expressed as "safety first"

That's right. Who is safe now.

Anyway, first and last are not mutually exclusive. It could mean there is only one. And "There can be only one" is also phrase used in another somewhat more competitive movie.

Er, but i had a real point... Hope everyone is weathering the storms and fires and cats and dogs living together. We sure are living in interesting times, i should say.

4. I was just thinking i once polled friends for fictional camels, and got a rather interesting cross section of camel characters. I think i did the same thing with tortoises. Both times i was impressed with the wide backgrounds my friends have. I wonder if y'all would like to surprise me a little bit more. Both are animals suited to the long haul, after a fashion.

5. is right out. Which is how i hope we hit the ball today! Like the Twins last night, i finally got around to saying something about baseball!

Rosario is about as cold as it gets right now so lets bat him 4th.

His past six games he does have an OPS of .192. That said, he's only struck out four times in that period. He's even walked twice. That means he's putting the ball in play, he's probably just getting unlucky.

I'm okay with it, balls are bound to start falling for him.

I'm really not a believer in the strategy of juggling the lineup based on who's hot. Streaks and slumps happen to everyone. Set your lineup and stick with it as much as possible. Just my philosophy.

That kind of sacrifice tapper making sure he makes enough contact so the runner moves up that Mauer did there drives me almost as crazy as sac bunts to get a guy to 2B. Playing for one run in the first inning is nuts.  Prefer to have the guy who is hitting so well take a full swing instead of a safe swing where he just wants to make sure he moves the guy over.

Rosario doesn't belong at cleanup though, IMO.  Him being cold as ice just makes it worse.

That certainly is the standard and the tradition. Funny thing about tradition, if you never try something else, you never know that there might be a better, more productive way, to achieve a more consistent goal.

Buxton is trying to catch up to him... must be 0 for his last 15 or so.

Gold numbers on the Royals' jerseys almost invisible. Design change for the sake of design change. Pointless.

We should count our blessings. It's Friday night and the Twins are not wearing the red ones.

actually, i think there is a point: change for the sake of souvenir sales.
