Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 No worries, spin has my back. Right spin? Spin???You do know that spin is my brother, yes? For spin that's a rock/hard place question.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Is this the greatest start of kyles career
ThejacKmp Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Completely different conversation but this is why I hate the 2nd wildcard (and the first). Completely flawed teams duking it out to play another game. Not in the NL. The second wildcard makes it so the first wildcard is truly wild. Love the second wildcard - one of the best innovations in baseball.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Author Posted August 23, 2017 Why do athletes wear big jewelry when they play? Drives me nuts.Because they can afford it?

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 gibson tired of getting picked on by twins daily. obviously. One wonders...the 999,999th jab didn't get the job done, but number 1,000,000 set him off on a competent pitching jag?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I've downsized my shoe collection by a lot. I have far less than 100 pairs now. But I know several men who have far more than that.Further, I said 'athletes' ... I wasn't specifically criticizing male athletes, but yes, Vargas' necklaces reminded me of my dislike of this. You know men who have more than 100 pairs? So do I

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 You do know that spin is my brother, yes? For spin that's a rock/hard place question.Gonna go out on a limb here and guess that was the joke.

adorduan Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Oh God, Pelfrey is pitching, the game will now go an hour longer than it needs to.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Oh God, Pelfrey is pitching, the game will now go an hour longer than it needs to.Do you mean because he's a slow worker or because of all the home runs? And I already know the answer to that question.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Because they can afford it?Heh, I'm sure. I just can't imagine running bases or being on the field with those heavy necklaces bouncing on my chest. Same with women tennis players and their dangling earrings ... it would drive me nuts and don't understand how a few earlobes aren't ripped during matches.
ThejacKmp Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 1. Buxton (CF)2. Polanco (2B)3. Rosario (LF)4. Sano (1B)5. Kepler (RF)6. Vargas (DH)7. Escobar (3B)8. Gordon (SS)9. Garver ©This would be a good lineup in the future. 1) Eduardo Escobar is unlikely to remain a useful inexpensive player in two years (no Mauer means this has to be 2019). He's going to hit arbitration and start costing more. He's also always struck me as more of a utility guy than an every day guy - he's stretched at that point. 2) No faith in Vargas long term. Maybe I'll be wrong but I'd rather do a Mauer/lefty masher platoon. 3) I want Buxton hitting in the #3 spot. He's got too much extra base pop to be at the top of the rotation.

ThejacKmp Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I'm excited as an opposing fan to see how he does. Heard a lot of hype over the past few years but the numbers aren't there yet. He's been trending down really hard in the past few years. Velocity down, BB rates up, K rates down. At this point the name is sexier than the performance. Seems like more of a back of the rotation type than a frontline starter. I look forward to beating up on him for years to come.
