Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I've seen better ABs than the one Castro just gave us
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 White sox finding every hole. Frustrating
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Oh the wonders of ground ball pitch to contact pitchers.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Nice to see Gibson continuing the tradition of pitching to contact.
jun Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Gibson just can't get any major league players out now.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Nice to see Gibson continuing the tradition of pitching to contact.Old habits die hard sometimes.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 That's not a ground ball, it's a ground bat.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I'm sorry, but doing be reaching for the pinetar after losing your bat and looking like an a-hole.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I don't hate Gibson. Have championed him and believed in him and rooted for him. Would still like to see him pitch well tonight and turn it around. But don't you just feel like it's time to move on?
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 No matter how much Dick talks about it I just cannot picture this team in the play-in game.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Author Posted August 23, 2017 Pulling hard for Gibson tonight. The talent is there, and he's a great guy. Really want to see him pull it together and stick.Side note. We live in Minnesota. What is the game thread title in pacific time, with central time parenthasised? Just curious. The author of this thread lives in CA. And it has sort of been his "thing" since he started doing threads.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 The problem with Gee pitching last night, and pitching so well, is he's not available tonight if we get another short start from Gibson.
Darius Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 This coming from a guy who caught DII baseball (oh good for me)....what the heck is with catchers painting their finger nails. Kind of ridiculous. If you can't read signs at 60 ft, you may want to see an optimitrist and go Tyler Clippard with glasses.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Rambling I know, but even with Kepler out due to illness, I kinda like the lineup tonight.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Twins can't seem to get a good read on this kids fastball.

Darius Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 No matter how much Dick talks about it I just cannot picture this team in the play-in game.I have to agree. As much as I want it to happen, I've never really believed this team will be in the playoffs (reverse jynx, World Series title coming).
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 No matter how much Dick talks about it I just cannot picture this team in the play-in game.I don't know why not. They're 3/4 of the way through the season, and leading the chase for the 2nd spot. Everyone else in the chase has had 3/4 of a season to prove they don't have holes, too.
Darius Verified Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 "Doesn't matter how they look. What matters is you see.:If one of my pitchers at the time told me they needed me to paint my nails neon colors, I would've told them to eat a.....sandwich.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 This is not a good strategy for success, Kyle.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 If we can get out of this only down 2-0 I'll be pretty pleased.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I'm so done with Gibson.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 If we can get out of this only down 2-0 I'll be pretty pleased.Quick reminder that the sox are the worst team in the AL and 2nd worst in the league. And they unloaded most of their studs. A team in contention should be looking to take 4 games out of 5 in a series like this. 3 wins would be somewhat disappointing. It's unfortunate we've had to start the guys we have, but I guess we should be prepared for this if we qualify for the WC and win.

I would say running the likes of Enns, Melville, Turley, Wilk, Tepesch, Jorge, Gee, and Slegers out there not to mention established garbage such as Hughes, Gibson, and Santiago is reason enough to wonder what could have been if they just had a competent pitching staff.

It really is absurd we're contending even close to September.
