DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Also, just heard that Grossman has a fractured thumb. Looks like at least the 10 day DL. Who's up? Granite, Vargas (God no) or, dare I say it, Garver? Granite for sure. Need that 4th OF.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Did Slegers get added to the 40 man? They kind of frown on players being brought in from the street.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 How is that NOT an error? He lost his footing before he got to the ball which caused him not to touch it as it went past him. I agree with the scorer in this instance.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Granite for sure. Need that 4th OF.Probably right, but they could also use a RH bat off the bench. So maybe Garver gets a shot.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Right now is when I would rather see Mitch Garver batting. Kepler blasted one, but now Gimenez is a .200 batter.
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Nice at bat Gimenez! You're a great guy and we could care less if you suck since you're nice
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Maybe Falvine will surprise everyone and bring up Garver. He's certainly a better option to DH. And he's probably not a substantially inferior outfielder than Grossman. The options for DH with a Granite call up are a rotation of Sano, Mauer, Escobar and Rosario and maybe Kepler. My vote is Garver.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Slegers to Kepler: Apology accepted.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 I was in the shower and missed the HR. Guess I'll have to stay there for the next 2 innings
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Right now is when I would rather see Mitch Garver batting. Kepler blasted one, but now Gimenez is a .200 batter. Why oh why can't we have Granite AND Garver?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Here are the moves I would like after tonight: Granite for Grossman; we need a 4th outfielder. I don't want to see Esco or Adrian out there.Sleegers for Gibson; I'm tired of watching Gibson pitch, and Aaron looked good tonightGarver for Gimenez; It is a long shot but it needs to be done. Giminez can't hit
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Hildie's combo: curve at 77, straight change at 76, then another change at 77, delivered three quarters. That is some darn good stuff.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Why oh why can't we have Granite AND Garver? Two words: Glen Perkins
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Is there a re-entry rule in MLB? Bribg in Slegers for one pitch. There's a rule against it, but that doesn't mean it can't be done
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Standing O for the rookie.Named in honor of Standing O'Vation, the well known Irish fan.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 WTF, Molitor?? Hildenberger was absolutely befuddling those major league hitters. You just made Cleveland VERY HAPPY by taking him out!
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Granite and either Garver or Vargas. But as right now aren't there FOUR LH in the pen?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 What's the name of Clevinger's band?The Tasty Waves
Linus Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Is it too much to ask that we have one catcher that has a prayer of getting the occasional hit?

DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Just commented Slegers has to go down as he's the 26th man for the double header. But couldn't he be kept as an injury replacement for Grossman?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Hahaha, did you guys see that?? Gimenez got up and jogged away BEFORE the ump made the strike three call, and the ump looked like he thought, "Close enough, yer out!"
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Granite and either Garver or Vargas. But as right now aren't there FOUR LH in the pen?Boshers was sent down for Turley. Enns is on the DL, replace by Perkins. So, I think only three. One of whom has gotten zero outs as a MLB reliever. Another who has gotten 1 in the last 16 months.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Is it too much to ask that we have one catcher that has a prayer of getting the occasional hit?I don't think Castro is awful. Inconsistent at times, but not awful. Some power, decent OB, especially considering the AVG. Used properly, he and Garver could be pretty effective IMO.

But couldn't he be kept as an injury replacement for Grossman?https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/26th_Man_RuleIf I read the rule correctly that would be the only way we can keep him. But there's no way they'll keep a starting pitcher who wouldn't be able to pitch in the next doubleheader on Monday when they need another position player.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Dozier looks to close the bathroom door on this game... ;-) Don't pee away this chance. Is that RBI's I smell? Or asparagus?

Would really, really like to see Turley establish something from the pen. Seems he has the stuff.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Thumb puzzle? WTH is Dick talking about?
