Kwak Verified Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 It's too bad our offense managed one hit in the final five innings of this one. Ick....and I was going to blame the "blowpen"--good point!
Jerr Verified Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Ok, I lied. This game needs a bigger table than the one you posted: https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video;_ylt=AwrBT4WxeH5Z15MAjBtXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTB0N2Noc21lBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNwaXZz?p=Table+flip&fr2=piv-web&fr=tightropetb#action=view&id=2&vid=7058e6252e706a943fb7c305962085db

wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 You are right. The ability to adjust is the difference between a guy who hits .230 and a guy who hits .300. It also goes both ways. The Twins pitchers should have been able to break away from strategy and start hitting that outside location against RH's. It's perhaps more important for our pitchers to adjust to it because even if a batter adjusts to that outside pitch... It's a pitchers pitch and there really isn't anything that a batter can do with it. So I'm going to blame our pitchers more than our hitters since pitching was given the advantage.Exactly. The pitchers benefit from it too... should they actually make said adjustments as well. Every game sees a different zone, that's just human nature. It shouldn't be as blatant as it was today, but fact of the matter is that it was. Adjust. The A's did a better job of it and that's why they won.
jun Verified Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Rogers, Pressly and Duffey should not be allowed to pitch in close game right now. None of them deserve to get one inning unless it's a blow out.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I guess the goal should now revert to beating our win total from last year. 10 more wins
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 In all seriousness... The A's roster is pretty scary!

spinowner Provisional Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 ****ing internet went out as the top of the last inning unfolded. Might have been for the best for all of you not to be subjected to my comments after that point.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Ok, I lied. What i like about this one is the physics demo it provides. you can see it has started a half flip on an axis not imparted by the original flipping motion... It lands on its side. I think there is a metaphor somewhere in that, but tonight we lost, so i won't try to excavate it...
howeda7 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Using Rogers was questionable but defensible. Using Pressly in that spot was not. What does Hildenberger have to do to move ahead of Pressly? I am completely indifferent on Molitior at this point. A change couldn't hurt.
