Dear Twins FO;

I would like to point out recent events that have taken place at Target field. Please notice who has taken a 6 run deficit and turned it into a 3 run lead. Yes, it is the youngsters. And one of the youngsters relieved a youngster who was struggling and kept the Orioles from further scoring.

Please, please, please, do not bring up Colon. This is not acceptable and is a regression from the current direction of the young talent.

Sincerely,

Blake

I agree. Not excited about the move.

Was I the only one gritting his teeth when Polanco flipped that throw casually, and it looked high?

Whew! Where's that chicken?

As with most of Kintzler's saves, I start to tense up about now

The two best relievers I have ever seen were Dennis Eckersley and Mariano Rivera, and they have two of the biggest blown saves in history.

Hicks and May :(

Every once in a while, I use the mlb.tv archive and watch the 9th inning of that game. Still makes me smile.

Sano flashes some leather.

I was just admiring his defense, but to each his own.

Bartolo Colon at this point should be considered a sideshow act for a last place team. Even if he dominates in AAA, it means nothing. Big leaguers are a lot harder to shut down than AAA guys.

I see two near term futures for Colon. 1) Go to the St Paul Saints and have lots of fun in semi-retirement. 2) "Retire" for a while, start taking steroids again, pump up that old body, ease off the juice just before spring training, see if you can pass a pee test.

Otherwise, he should hang 'em up. Great career. Now go teach some little kids how to play ball.

This post makes me think you didn't see that we signed him to a minor league contract tonight.

If you look on the front page of TD, there's an article titled: "Twins Sign Ancient Pitcher to Minor League Contract."

I suspect the writer of the article isn't a fan of the signing.

After Ralph Branca of course.

No, I did see that story early this morning. The man has very little left to offer. Even with a magical Greg Maddux two-seamer, Colon lacks the poop to pop heaters past pro bats. Poopless gas is annoying.

Too bad Colon didn't go to Seattle. He could have been the Ancient Mariner.

Poetry joke!

"Rhyme of the Ancient Colon"

Yeah, has a ring to it, doesn't it?

After Ralph Branca of course.

Never saw Branca, nor was he ever great, but, yes, that was also a famous blown save.

Between that one, Thome's first Target Field walk off home run and Casilla walk-off in game 163 always bring a smile to my face.

Except tomorrow's game time is 1:10 PM CDT.

Yup. I thought to point that out as well.

But speakin' as someone who used to use "good morning" as a time independent greeting, it's night for someone.
