dgwills Provisional Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Kyle: What's up skip? The ball is really flying tonight.Paul: Pitch like your job depends on it.Kyle: OK.Paul: No. Really. We should have them on defense. Let's hope that makes the difference
David HK Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Gosh, how many runs does Gibby need for a 'safe' lead? I'm thinking somewhere around 2 touchdowns.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Gosh, how many runs does Gibby need for a 'safe' lead? I'm thinking somewhere around 2 touchdowns.Perhaps more importantly, how many touchdowns does the bullpen need for a "safe" lead?

bighat Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Gosh, how many runs does Gibby need for a 'safe' lead? I'm thinking somewhere around 2 touchdowns. Didn't we score at least 10 runs for him in a couple of his victories this year? The guy gets tons of run support.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 This time I leave to let the dog out and another run scores...I need to quit leaving the room I guess. It takes a little while to figure these things out. A little trial and error
Jax Provisional Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Geez this game won't be over until 11 central
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 It takes a little while to figure these things out. A little trial and errorTrue, a pattern must be firmly established before coming to a reasonable conclusion. This probably explains why Belisle and Breslow are still on the roster.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 The only way we're winning is if we score 8 + runs. That's not happening. Good thing you stuck the + in. Nice hedge

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Geez this game won't be over until 11 centralI was hoping it would be done by 10 mountain time.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 The only time I see this many pitches right down Broadway is during the Home run Derby. Pitching exhibition this is not.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I was hoping it would be done by 10 mountain time.At this point, I'm hoping that it's done by first pitch tomorrow. Would the 26 man rule apply in that situation?
David HK Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Dang, can't watch here at "work." But this game must be a fun-fest. I think Kennys maybe read some posts from yesterday about his lack of aggressiveness on the basepaths- and now he's running amok. Something that big, in amok-mode, I surely don't want to get in the way of. Maybe nobody is brave enough to try to tag him.
gil4 Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 New pitching strategy...QUIT THROWING IT RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE!Alternate strategy - convince the other team to use our strategy.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Haha Paul is coming out to chew some a**Absolutely pathetic.I come in late and walk into all this fretting. Check on Gameday, and find that we're up. 11-5, even! Nothing to worry about. At least, unless Gib-... oh, right, he is pitching. Well, even if he comes out, the bullp-... oh, wait. We're doomed.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Alternate strategy - convince the other team to use our strategy.I think they already are.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I'm actually watching 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and following the game on gameday. It's too much a classic movie to miss.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 At this point, I'm hoping that it's done by first pitch tomorrow.Would the 26 man rule apply in that situation? Gibson is still just one start away from causing some fans to be subjected to the seldom-invoked 26 beer rule.

David HK Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Cripe, 12 runs scored, and Gibby might not even make it through 5. What a.... I don't, know, I've run out of words.

bighat Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Never has a 6-run lead seemed so unsafe! Question: are we sticking with Gibby here at least until Hughes gets back? If Turley pitches lights out next time around do the Twins sack the Gibber? With Santiago pitching so poorly, are the Twins just stuck with this guy? Molitor seemed ticked off at him on his last mound visit.
