Hughes secondary stuff just isn't good enough to make up for a sub 90 fastball. I'm not sure what to do with him at this point. I'm not convinced he would have much more success in the bullpen, so maybe it's time for a mystery injury to send him to the DL.

Hughes should be the guy coming into the game in the fourth innning, down a touchdown.

But, with all of the confounding decisions this club makes daily...who knows...they may just bring him in to close the second game.

I tell ya, ya just never know.  I was at the bowling center last night, left my mood ring on my bag while I bowled, and somebody stole it.

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Okay, well, that was uncharacteristic of Mauer.

And now Tepesch is being discussed for tomorrow.

Will the agony ever end?

This game is not looking winnable, but a comeback would show character.

I saw on twitter that it would be Gibson...one of the Twins writers tweeted it.

I stand by my initial statement.

Maybe they have different baserunning rules in Germany

Wouldn't surprise me, the rules for who makes which bunk bed are totally screwy there.

Who else is excited to see Wilk after Hughes?

Can I 'like' this point, but not the idea of Wilk bringing in the mop?

No? I thought not.

Not if he's diagnosed with a coma.

We'll see you in 6 to 12 months then, I guess.

What am I missing.  I keep reading these encouraging words about Hughes and then I look at the box scores and wonder if we have two Hughes on the team - the really nice comeback player who obviously has not thrown an inning yet and the Mr. Hyde Hughes that comes out and pitches batting practice to the other team.

In 11 years Hughes has had two ERA under 4 and we paid big because of one of them. 5 times he has had an ERA over 5.

What am I missing?  Other than his contract.  This reminds me of that wily old vet - Pelfrey.

Who decides if a player is actually hurt when they get sent to the DL?

Surprisingly enough, a rep from the players' union helps them decide the best course of action for their health.
