That was one of my most favorite innings to watch - poor kid couldn't catch the HR, leaves his seat, throws his glove away, and finds a seat in the second deck to be alone. I feel for him, but it was also hilarious to watch and I'm surprised they kept the cameras on him.

Now they're interviewing him and giving him scratch tickets. Glad to see they've cheered the guy up, now I just want to see another HR come his way and give him a second chance to catch it.

baby steps, but I'm encouraged Mejia didn't implode... one more zero and he gets a QS...  Not exactly a stellar day, but one that gives me hope that he can be contributing at some point sooner than later.

baby steps, but I'm encouraged Mejia didn't implode... one more zero and he gets a QS...  Not exactly a stellar day, but one that gives me hope that he can be contributing at some point sooner than later.

Someone in Rochester needs to step up because Hughes just isn't long for the rotation, from what I've seen. Hughes has benefited tremendously from having stellar defense in the outfield.

Hey, it turned into a great day, because, in the end, he gets an autographed baseball from Torii. 

 

It will be impossible for his friends to give him grief after that.

yeah, that's a ticking time bomb.  That I agree.  With Mejia, I don't think his problem is stuff.  Probably more confidence and him being on a short leash.  Event a meh start is a step in the right direction.

Torri probably has enough pull to get that song played, as a joke, when Kepler and Buxton are taking fielding practice.

I'm starting to think the FO needs to roll the dice a bit more and run with younger starters. Let the veteran be Santana and let Hughes find another team, if he can. Sometimes, salary just has to be eaten. It happens.

What's this?  Mejia gives up a leadoff double in the 7th, and doesn't get yanked?  Gets a chance to pitch his way around it with a 4-run lead?

 

I like it.  Molly maybe gets a tick up on my list.  

 

Unless Mejia implodes, then I'm all over the Mgr again!   :lol:

After seeing Mejia's start today, I'd really like to see him stay in the rotation. Make Hughes the #5 guy who gets skipped on rainouts and off days.
