It's been pretty bad. It didn't take take a lip reading expert to discern what Phil Hughes thought of him after he was yanked.

 

That said, the pitchers have been pretty awful in their own right.

Can anybody tell me if Hawk is on the broadcast?  They've shut me down from getting mlbtv at "work," but I would have loved to hear his silence on that Escobar dinger.

He's not. Hawk basically only does the road games these days, which alleviates him from making the 90-minute drive home after the game.

Mrs Chief and I recently celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary.  Pretty big deal, so I got her a plane tickets to Paris.

 

For our 50th, I'll get her a ticket back.

Normally I don't complain much about the HP umpire, but by my count he's missed roughly as many strike calls for Twins pitchers as he's made.
