ashbury Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I hope they are just being extra careful with Buck. Just as he was starting to find his groove, he gets hurt, I hope to the almighty tenth degree, that this does not cause him a set back and halts his progress.I don't understand why that outfield wall is shaped the way it is, instead of just flat and fully padded all the way up and down.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Think the bullpen is going to have a big role in todays win.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Anyone a little concerned Buxton isn't in the lineup for a 2nd day in a row? Or maybe just making sure he's well and rested? Concussion protocol. There's a timeline. I'm surprised he isn't on the concussion DL.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I don't understand why that outfield wall is shaped the way it is, instead of just flat and fully padded all the way up and down. My assumption is so the bullpen can watch the game from those cheap seats they have.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 So, is Tepesch like the right handed version of Tommy Milone?
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Here's hoping the only ones with baited breath are the fish.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Not the prettiest of innings, but a scoreless first is great.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 1 inning down... 1 zero hung do that 8 more times and someone might say something nice about ole Nick.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Not the prettiest of innings, but a scoreless first is great. As they say in the aerospace industry, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. (There might be room for some Advanced Analytics to look deeper into this saying, though.)
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 No hitter intact. As expected.

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 One inning of shutout ball has earned our newest hurler the nickname Nick "Mow 'Em Down" Tepesch.

Not sure that helps the metaphor, I just really like that saying.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Planes really depreciate in value when you drive it off the lot. Might as well just crash it.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Any news on what Buxton is out with? I've seen mentioned cuncussion thrown around on the boards here, but have the Twins mentioned anything?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Welp. It was bound to happen eventually. Nick was set up for failure not pitching since the 20th. Poor management.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Tepesch just said "oops" on the hanging slider.

He passed his concussion tests but I think I heard them say that he had a headache yesterday so they are being cautious.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Chris Young sighting. Talented player, seems to have bounced around a bit for the past few years and hasn't found a full-time role anywhere. Strange.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Ahhhh Polanco with the ERRRRRORRRR. Rats. He was due, reckon.
Oldgoat_MN Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 This is starting to look like what I feared.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Telescope is pretty slow out there.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 "Pitch count is a concern." I'm more concerned about the hanging curve count.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Telescope is pretty slow out there.Auto correct for Tepesch.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Tepperware looking more like a Rubber Maid out there on the hill.

Talented player, seems to have bounced around a bit for the past few years and hasn't found a full-time role anywhere. Strange. Very talented but he was too all or nothing during his career. After he left Arizona... It became a couple years of nothing and very little all and he has been seen as a backup ever since.
