The White Sox DH today is Yolmer Sanchez. He has a career .587 OPS in 699 PA. Makes the Twins DH issues look pretty good.

Reminds me of 2006 when Jason Tyner was playing a healthy stretch at DH.

That's a beaut. Mine was the '64 Corvair, purchsed for pennies on the dollar in 1967, about when Chief retired, because stuff melted. My brother and I pulled the engine and replaced the aluminum head and lots of other things one summer. Twice.

Maybe because with a LHP starter in Santiago the White Sox will have less LHB in the lineup so Grossman should get less chances in RF than in LF today.

We had a Nova at one time ... unfortunate name, imo. In Spanish it means 'no go' and it was pretty much a lemon. However, while in high school, the car I got to drive was my Dad's Skyhawk.

That Dynaflow transmission was smoooooth.

I didn't own a car 'til I got out of college, but I had access to a '61 Rambler, push button transmission. 199 cubic inches IIRC. I got to drive an underpowered Corvair a couple times, but it wouldn't start after a blizzard and I never drove it again. My older brother bought a new Ford Maverick--dirt cheap and built that way. $1995 brand new.

My first car was a 1957 Cadiilac hearse/ambulance. Creme colored to allow this flexibility. Bought it from a funeral home director in south Minneapolis, who had bought it from some small town that wanted that DanSan style flexibility from it. I think I paid about $800 for it, and immediately threw down some gorgeous shag carpet to hide the coffin rails. It's best features in descending order of importance, were the perfectly operating siren, the powerful dual side lamps with 360 degree turning capability, and most importantly, huge front to back windows. This was optimal for loading up the boys, and cruising through the drive-in at 46th and Hiawatha with the siren blaring and the side lamps postioned to give the patrons the best view of all those naked butts pressed up against the windwos. When my dad got me home from the police station after my arrest, as soon as my mom walked away he shook my hand, smiled, and said "clever". And those were the last words he ever spoke about the incident.
