Trump said words that everyone agrees with to some extent.

You agree with increasing the number of avowed Socialists who immigrate to this country? Because I'm sure that is what the President meant when he indicated a preference for Norwegian folks.

I still laugh every day nothing stories dominate the news. Trump said words that everyone agrees with to some extent. Democrat goes nuts and tells the media. He got you again. By the way tell me you've never called Blaine the same thing.

First, I went to high school in Anoka and never called Blaine, Coon Rapids, or Champlin a ****hole.

There are countries in this world that are not first world countries, that are predominantly made of non white people, where the people live off what we'd consider crumbs. That doesn't make them less than a white European making more money than the average American.

Our president, whom used to be considered the leader of the free world, calling any country a ****hole is a disgrace. The people defending it, you included, should take a hard look at how blessed they are to have been born in the USA. The people of Haiti didn't choose to be born into poverty, the people of Sudan didn't choose to be born into an unstable region. As the strongest military power in the world, the largest economy in the world, the richest people in the world, and the strongest advocate for democracy in the world, calling any country a ****hole is unacceptable.

Words and facts matter. Republicans at that meeting dodging the statements by Trump are cowards. The longer this presidency goes on, the more respect the Republican party is losing. The next 2 elections are going to be a blood bath.

Why would Norwegian people want to come here? So they can have more expensive health care, more crime, less pay, less benefits at their job.... I don't see the incentive.

Exactly.

Someone pulled out the statistics for 2015 it was something like....

450 Americans immigrated to Norway.

50 Norwegians immigrated to the US.

You would expect more than 50 just with career moves and marriages.

Well you're not counting all the illegals that are surely coming from Norway. We need to give those folks asylum priority.

See? Trump was only pointing out an imbalance. He'll probably fund some focus groups in Oslo, Bergen, and Trondheim to get to the bottom of this emerging brain-drain.

I have a hard time taking the medical report seriously when it starts out with him weighing 239 pounds... (coincidentally one pound short of being considered obese for his height).

I suppose if he is filled with gaseous sulfur from the pits of hell, he is lighter than he looks.

Even his doctors lie for him.

Basically the same proportions as Mike Trout. Seems legit.

The government is on the verge of a shut-down and Trump and company are taking their time to mock the news media with the fake news awards, which are (or at least were attempted to be) posted on the GOP webpage.  That the GOP is posting this on their official webpage is wrong on a number of levels, but accurately points out how Trump is not an anomaly - he reflects the party.

Just more evidence that Trump is a symptom of the problem, and he would not have existed if not for the toxic environment that has been building for years.  A lot of people out there in power who deep down are not too different than Trump - they just are not as overtly boorish.

Somewhat fittingly, they screwed up loading the awards (although strangely Fox News seemed to have them).

If it were not for his bone spurs, I bet he could have been a hall of fame athlete in any sport he chose to participate.

I know it's low on the list of things from this Administration that actually impact people, but it's still amazing that the President of the United States paid six figure hush money to a pornstar to cover up an extramarital affair.

What's worse was that Fox News had the story pre-election and didn't air it.

So did Slate. I'm actually a little sympathetic to the news orgs. That's a hard thing to drop if you're not 100%.

Plus there is the whole creepy aspect where he told her she reminded him of his daughter.

Can you imagine the Fox outrage if it came out that Obama had an affair with a porn star when Michelle had just given birth?

I guess the FBI is now investigating whether Russia illegally funneled money through the NRA.  The NRA has evolved into a kind of scary organization.

I wasn't aware that Fox cared to be 100% accurate on stories, I thought their threshold was more like 10%.

Also, if Trump knew then what he knows now he wouldn't have blown any hush money. He would have bragged about it during his campaign and his awful supporters would have eaten it up.

I know. Fox's response is ridiculous. How often have they reported on false things about Democrats? Their reaction to Trump's "5h1th0l3" remark was to say that "It didn't happen. Dick Durbin is a known liar." I challenge anyone to find ANYTHING about Durbin EVER lying.

Think he will take time from patting himself on the back, gloating, and mocking his enemies to tweet about the latest school shooting?  It is amazing how many tragedies he simply ignores often tweeting something petty about something else while they are happening.

It's fun watching the response to the speech last night.  I don't know where this is all going, but unless something drastic happens I don't think November will be great for Democrats, maybe OK or good but not great.

I think good is right, but not great. Agreed.
