I keep seeing this Russia stuff just drip, drip, drip out. With two convictions and two guys already facing charges - and these are big players in the Trump campaign - I just don't see how this doesn't end the Trump presidency in some way.

Since it hasn't yet, makes me wonder two things ... how much worse is out there, and just how deep does it go, i.e. how deep into the party, not just in Trump's administration, further i.e. Ryan ... I do wonder how much he knows and I would guess it's not nothing.

So earlier today one of my windows was open to CNN but the page was moved slightly up so the top words were cut off. So when I clicked on that window, I saw Breaking News on the bottom and "Trump to resign" on top and I was so very, very happy until I scrolled all the way up and it said "Sen. Gillibrand calls on".

This Wolff book (through excerpts) is amazing. A journalist hung out with the Administration for a year and they were too disorganized to notice. And it's all on tape.

I'm hoping this is just the equivalent of the body excreting infected pus due to the natural process of expelling an unwanted foreign substance that is doing the body no good. In the end all the gross stuff is just part of the process of getting rid of the unwanted but we ultimately heal with only a scar to show for the ordeal.

A scar for sure. The problem is, the rest of the world knows that our country elected him. It isn't like how Putin came to power, this was the American people. Also, they think our electoral college is really stupid. Regardless, this 4 years is going to cause some distrust towards Americans globally.

The network media is still trying to normalize him to some extent (I don't have cable, I suspect this is not true for MSNBC).  GMA had Scarmucci on yesterday and Spicer on today to discuss Wolf's book.  Now, I admit cannot just take the book at face value and need to investigate its claims, but to have two of the bigger liars for Trump out there to refute the book and defend Trump as not being insane seems like sloppy journalism.  These two men should not be taken seriously by anyone, much less by people who are supposed to be journalists.

 

[Full disclosure - I changed the channel before the Spicer interview, so maybe George grilled him and called out any lies or suspect statements.)

This book is going to take the drama up a notch it seems. Trump now claims Bannon cried when he got fired and is a loser. If there was one guy Trump doesn't want to turn on him, it's Bannon. The brietbart people are his stronghold. They are anti establishment, conspiracy theorist, racist, sexist, white males. Of course I'm unfairly categorizing this demographic, and not all fit in every box. Anyway, a fissure with this group and Trump / faux news would be very bad for Trump and the gop at large. The Roy Moore candidacy will only be a start. At some point, the gop will have to decide if trying to hold on to draconian ideas is worth losing elections.

They came to him with an agreed upon proposal, he rejects it and says no **** hole countries (countries where Brown people come from). That is exactly what a Bannon influence would be, and I bet the Breitbart base loved it.

The President is not everyone else. His words have actual consequences.

He talks like a petty child -- often making up facts, belittling people who don't agree to him or bow down to him, playing on people's fears or prejudices, constantly bragging about things he often had nothing to do with, repeating the same things over and over again.   

 

He does not say things everyone agrees with and certainly things we do not want the President of the United States saying. 

 

He should be trying to elevate conversation not bring things down because that is what his base wants to hear and he has a desperate need for applause.
