beckmt Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I like San Francisco, assuming they can survive tonights game. Should be a great game and if they survive, like the top San Francisco starters.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Admittedly, I'm a bit biased, but I worry that the Cubs peaked too early. I usually like a team that had a good surge into the playoffs like the Mets and Giants. I'm going with the Giants over the Rangers.
laloesch Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I'm going out on a limb and saying the cubs finally win this year. Their starting five is rock solid and they have plenty of offense to back it off.

diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 If I were to lay money on it, it would be the Cubs.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 It may be a rematch of the 1918 world series.... Boston vs. Chicago. My heart says Cubbies. My head says Sawx.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 The Cubs are historically great.....picking another team is just not logical. Odds are, a different team will win, but that's because there are so many other teams.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Rangers vs. Giants. The even year bandits prevail.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 It's all a crapshoot. But I'll root for the Cubs.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Well. Pretty hard to root for the Jays right now...

biggentleben Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Silly Jays fans....don't they know that you don't throw concessions onto the field in the wild card game until they blow an infield fly rule call?!
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 What really got my goat wasn't the thrown beer. That happens. There are idiots everywhere. It was the entire stadium booing showalter and Jones afterward. Go blackbirds.

biggentleben Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Buck has the possible Cy Young award winner throw 0 pitches in an extra inning game win-or-go-home game. Their fate can really be put in that thought right there.

Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 The Cubs should win it, but they won't.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 The smart money is on the Cubs... But it's an even year, so hard to vote against the Giants.

Holy hell Buck.......holy hell!!
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Stay classy Toronto....stay classy..... http://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/blue-jays-baltimore-orioles-beer-can-1.3791786

Holy hell Buck.......holy hell!!Sounds like a case of old school managing at its worst.
biggentleben Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Bud Light actually................so yeah, water, same diff. My bad. I was going by the initial report in-game and have been writing, so I've not been on Twitter tonight. That's even more sad.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 The Blue Jays fans make it very difficult to cheer for them to succeed... I enjoy passion and cheering loud as much as anyone. As soon as you put a player in danger by throwing a beer at him, I'm out. Let's go Rangers!!

Holy hell Buck.......holy hell!!Didn't stay up late enough to watch the end, but holy hell is right... Buck decided to go with Ubaldo Jimenez, he of the 5.44 ERA, over Britton and his 0.54 ERA?! Does.not.compute.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 Sadly, the person who threw the beer at Kim last night was not caught. At the link is more news that fans were yelling racial slurs at Kim and Jones after the incident. Blue Jays fans are the worst.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 All the fans are the worst? Really? That's like saying the 50K sane people at the Ryder Cup are the worst....
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Showalter.....when will managers learn? Ugh. Just. Ugh.
