poor jose gets three shutout innings expunged from his dreary rookie season. and lucky joe gets to erase a pair of strikeouts (ala dozier's lost hr in last month's turning-point rainout against the astros).

 

anyway and tonight notwithstanding, maybe they WERE right about an even younger jose not being ready as a call-up last season.

Berrios might not have even made it to the 6th, since he was over 60 pitches after 3 innings.  I'd give the exact number of pitches (I think 64), but the stats pulled a Houdini.

Wish I knew, I've never been a big wrestling fan.  That's a great pic.

I was not a wrestling fan. I was a 'rasslin fan! The old guys were the best, drive together to a town, vow violence on each other, then head home with a pitstop and drink pitcher beer till they got kicked out. A friend of mine tried it for Verne Gagne, he didn't make any money, but said it was a hoot. He told me not to tell anyone, so everyone keep this under wraps. But he confirmed that the matches were fixed! After that I never bet on Kenny Jay again, regardless of the odds!

My Dad did autobody work for some of these guys; I especially remember Nick Bockwinkel and Tiny Mills (who would fill the doorway completely). And young Greg Gagne was a highschool classmate of my brother.

I thought Greg Gagne was from Massachusetts?  :)

Verne and Greg lived across from us in EP for a few years. They let interesting people use that house....

 

And, their mean dog bit our dog on the head, and they denied it....
