hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Grossman can DH some, Mauer can DH some sliding Kepler to 1st. I think I'm on board with the people who say Buxton's proven he can hit Triple A, so he just needs to keep learning here. I guess Park hasn't proven he can hit AAABuxton only has 129 ABs at AAA this year & 59 ABs at AAA last year. I don't think 188 ABs is enough to say that he has proven that he can hit AAA. He still strikes out too much & had a BABIP around .400 at AAA. That level of BABIP doesn't seem sustainable.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Yikes. Seems as if two players that played today won't be around much longer. Or shouldn't be anyway.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 On the replay, it just looks like the ball was just out of his reach to me. Not sure the route mattered since he was still there in time. I'm also watching that on my phone, so there is that. That's my question too. I am watching on my phone so the replay is small.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 100% agree, but it seems like Buxton has missed a number of deep plays that I would have expected him to make based on the reputation that precedes him. How is he rated by the defensive metrics?Ball and glove hit wall at same time but ball was a couple inches higher than glove at least the way I saw it.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Kevin Jepsen has made a huge impact this season. Of the wrong kind.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Can Jepsen go to AAA? PLEASE TR, send him to AAA...
kusko_andy Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Good job Jepsen, thanks for doing your best today.

Sadly, the only kind I can really participate in. It's almost like some people are working. Lame.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Kevin Jepsen has made a huge impact this season. Of the wrong kind. Agree completely. I continue to be rather bewildered as to how he is still on this roster.

How is he rated by the defensive metrics?I prefer DRS, especially this early (but really always). He has 3 DRS, which if extrapolated would put him top 5 if not higher. The CFs with more have way more innings. He's also made 21 plays Outside of zone in only 293 innings this year which, if extrapolated, would put him top 5. I guess it depends on what you prefer more P.S., his actual UZR is -1.4. That -6.2 UZR quoted earlier is actually his UZR/150. UZR/150 is only good to use at the end of the year when comparing players for mostly full seasons since some players fall a bit shorter on innings played than others. UZR/150 means nothing at this point.

ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Kevin Jepsen has made a huge impact this season. Of the wrong kind. I hated the trade when it was made, because of whom we gave up. I never imagined I would come to hate it with the burning heat of a thousand suns because of whom we got, though.

ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Can Jepsen go to AAA? PLEASE TR, send him to AAA...I think he is out of minor league options. We might lose him on waivers if we try.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Welp, we all know how it feels to lose 9 games in a row, so a small part of me is ok with this. We won the series when we easily could have lost all 3

70charger Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 So much for that Plouffe trade... for those watching, how bad did it look? Hamstring? This could be a selling point. "He's ineffective, but he's also injured, so you won't have to see just HOW ineffective. Eh? Eh!?"

70charger Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Who did we trade again?Chih-Wei Hu. He's doing pretty well in the upper minors. Edit: "Chih," not "Chic." Stupid autocorrect. Though I'm sure he's quite fashionable....
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 At this point Terry would have to pay another team to take Jepsen.
