ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Who did we trade again?Again? OH NO! MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Chih-Wei Hu. He's doing pretty well in the upper minors. Edit: "Chih," not "Chic." Stupid autocorrect. Though I'm sure he's quite fashionable....We should stop trading for closers not named auguilera, Nathan or reardon
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 oh, no. Not that. Anything but that. fify

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Twins swinging like they have a flight to catch
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I agree, as Hu has not exactly collapsed after being promoted to AAIf by that you mean, "starting pitcher in the Southern League All-Star Game", then yeah.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Again? OH NO! MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! adam_fear.gifStop what? Or should I say, stop Hu?
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I think he is out of minor league options. We might lose him on waivers if we try.I doubt he would be claimed... Who did we trade again?Don't you mean: Hu did we trade again?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I'll be waiting on pins and needles for your results. if he's checking his groin, i suggest keeping the pins and needles out of this!
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I'll go check. Lemme get back to you.<crickets> This is taking an awfully long time, seems to me...
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I prefer DRS, especially this early (but really always). He has 3 DRS, which if extrapolated would put him top 5 if not higher. The CFs with more have way more innings. He's also made 21 plays Outside of zone in only 293 innings this year which, if extrapolated, would put him top 5. I guess it depends on what you prefer more P.S., his actual UZR is -1.4. That -6.2 UZR quoted earlier is actually his UZR/150. UZR/150 is only good to use at the end of the year when comparing players for mostly full seasons since some players fall a bit shorter on innings played than others. UZR/150 means nothing at this point. Thanks for the explanation. I don't know much about the defensive statistics...
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Stop what? Or should I say, stop Hu?Oh, I somehow thought he said we had traded for Jepsen again.
70charger Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 if he's checking his groin, i suggest keeping the pins and needles out of this! Instructions unclear. Headed to hospital.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I doubt he would be claimed...My fears are ungrounded, then. Carry on.

ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Even if his turn comes up again later in the 9th?I did not realize, until your post, just what a pessimist I have become.

Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Can this please be Park's last major league plate appearance for a while? Please? There was a time when I was gung ho for Byung-Ho. These days, I'm afraid that I'm bummed out with my Byung out.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Please enlighten those who aren't watching. When he was called up this time, he had a nice, quiet "leg kick". Nothing big, just better timing. In this last AB, it was all over the place, including that weird, twisty thing, he's done in the past. He just doesn't seem to retain things. Not good.
Comrade Bork Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 1-4 Buxton ! Keep raising that average!

I recall the leg kick discussion. Hopefully he's just pressing and falling into bad habits because of it and not simply just not retaining it. How long has he had the wonky twist deal in his swing? Is that a recent development or has that been there through the minors? If that's been there through the minors, why wasn't it addressed earlier?

If that's been there through the minors, why wasn't it addressed earlier? The twist is in his front foot: he plants the left foot and twists it in the dirt. It's a pitch recognition thing: he's getting fooled. In theory, the hesitation with a leg kick would at least lessen that problem. And a lunge into the ball for a better, quicker swing. IN THEORY It's all really disappointing. When Buxton was called up this time, he seemed like he was improving some each game.
